I went to buy something on Steam without realizing that I already owned it on Steam. Going to a game's page and seeing you already own it with absolutely no recollection of buying it sure is a trip.

I used to pronounce Sega 'See-ga'
Is this really embarrassing, though? Didn't commercials in certain regions say "See-ga?" (edit: AUS commercial)
I like Twin Snakes more than 3.
Same here man. In fact the only Metal Gear games I actually like are 1 and 2, with Twin Snakes being my favorite (I've only played 1,2 and 3 to completion, and a tiny bit of 4, and maybe half of 5 though).

I've done this, lol. I actually bought a physical copy of Dark Souls II SotFS on Xbox One and when I got it noticed I already had a physical copy ("When did that get there?")

I've never beaten Super Mario Bros 1, and honestly at this point I don't care to.

Despite being a huge Final Fantasy fan since VII the first game in the series that I actually finished was X.

I had this weird problem with JRPGs as a kid where I'd feel overwhelmed or daunted by the prospect of the final dungeon and I'd just put the game down and never get back to it.

I wrecked a controller playing Sekiro. So dumb, made me consider anger management (I've never done that before.)

I bought Homefront: The Revolution for Xbox One the day it came out at full price. And I actually enjoyed it up until a glitch at the very end prevented me from finishing the game.

I consider Yakuza 0 as one of the best games I've played, but I never have finished it or even gotten to some of the main minigame side stuff. I was playing it and Disgaea 5 at the same time and decided to finish Disgaea first, and this was like 2 years ago.

I jerked off to the boob physics in the original Dead or Alive (PS1) when I was a teenager. Back in the 90's finding porn in a small town was hard. I'm sorry, I'm a monster.

I own 11 game systems, have hundreds of physical games, yet I've never played a PS2 before

I'd count Zelda in my top 3 game series, but the only 3D Zelda I've beaten is Breath of the Wild. I've gotten to the endgame of all the others but gotten distracted by life events to the point that returning to them would mean restarting. It's compounded by the fact I lost my Zelda games in a move a few years back—I'm really hoping they start to appear on Switch so I can finally play through them all.

I didn't hate DMC2 the first time I played it but I think it was in part to protect my mental health because I had paid full price. What's really embarassing though is that, being a completionist, I can't bring myself to skip it when I do a full replay of the series... So I played it again on PS3 in the HD compiltation, and again on Steam last year. Each time beating it with Dante, Lucia and Trish. Now I hate that game and every time I play it I hate myself a bit more.

Used an autoclicker program to cheat at cookie clicker.

Happened to me yesterday when I realized I had Tales from the Borderlands... I have zero memory of ever buying it. And also happened to me during a big sale last year when I was completely broke but I really wanted to play some Resident Evil, so I was pretty bummed because I couldn't even afford it on sale. I checked if I had at least got one of them in a bundle or something and saw this:

... I was half happy, half embarassed...

I'm not satisfied with completing a game if I know I permanently missed a collectible or screwed up my stats or other related things. I've restarted games at 20+ hours in because of this.

1. I used a strategy guide to try and beat Huff n Puff and I STILL COULDN'T BEAT IT(I did later....years later)

2. I suck at stealth games, any game that has a stealth mission I dread. I've tried multiple games but almost every time I just want to go all gun-ho.

3. My strategy in pokemon battles is that there's no strategy, all attack moves and no status moves whatsoever. Though that being said, my friend is getting me in a competitive spirit(just a friendly battle, nothing serious) so I've been changing that.

4. If there's a game with side quests, I'm going to do all the side quests before doing the main ones every time

Most of my N64 collection was too scary for me as a kid. Zelda OoT, Super Mario 64, Kirby 64, Paper Mario (just Chapter 3, but still), Donkey Kong 64, etc.

I had to play with all the lights on and with my friend or sister in the room (and I couldn't play Zelda at all). Early 3D graphics still unnerve me a little.

Sonic Adventure 2 Battle is still one of my personal GOATs

I find it very hard to start new games because I plan out how to min/max my experience with a game and I find it exhausting

i needed my sister to beat the shadow temple in oot because i was too scared

also i played silent hill 2 and the first zombie thing that scurried out from under a car made me slam the ps2 off and never play the game again

i have broken things and hurt myself in frustration

i once downloaded ragnarok online 2 on a whim and instantly paid as much money as necessary to get cat ears then never played again, so that was like an hour long experience

not only did i buy into the initial hype of star citizen 300 years ago when it was first funding, i paid for the freelancer package, then they switched account systems but i lost all the info for my purchase and so now they have my money and i have nothing and no will to even try to fight it

i wasted tuition money and sleep through hs and college and once shut the door in my friends' faces when they came over for the sake of playing world of warcraft. but also because i didnt like my friends that much! IN MY DEFENSE

I was infamous for being the most whiny, annoying, ragebaby on the Awesomenauts forums. This also carried over to ingame. I.. yeah. I like to think I've got a lot better since then. Even though even up to 2016 I was still whining about stuff, but then in Splatoon.

I'm pretty sure I played all the way through the original multi-disc Final Fantasy VII on the original PlayStation, and I can't remember a single minute, let alone be 100% certain it happened.

PS2 days: I was only a kid, and just got home with a new game. Spongebob. However it asked me to do something and for the life of me I could not. Press L3 or R3. Had never stumbled on that control before.

Ended up returning it (24 hr return policy). It was not until much later that I realised I was an idiot.

The first gamertag I had I thought it was saying one thing using a popular gamer slang word at the time, but one misspelled letter completely changed the context of it to something sexual, which I wasn't aware of for years till a friend pointed it out. it explained so much about why anyone in chat would start talking about a specific topic, including this one bizarre time I got into a match in Halo 3 and this guy and girl started having a very casual discussion between each other on the differences between male and female stimulation... It was around that point I decided to fork out the money to change the gamertag.. but later abandoned the account anyway.

What was your gamer tag? After that DualShock confession I don't think you can shock us.

My confession is finding Donkey Kong kinda sexy so you're good

  1. I have never beaten a Zelda game. Closest I came was BotW after beating 3 of the Divine Beasts and ~70 shrines. Just lost interest and moved on to other stuff.
  2. FF VIII is my favorite Final Fantasy game.

This is the real shame, that Spongebob game was dope

I used to be dismissive when it used to come to representation of women and PoC characters in video games and spouting the tired nonsense line of "It's not important as it doesn't affect the game play."

I used to hostile when someone criticizes motion controls and not realising that while they are fine for me, they might not be for others, especially for those with disability.

In College, my roommate and I tried to beat Resident evil 0 by attempting to play it coop style (it didn't work out at all). If you're wondering how that worked I controlled player 2 through the c stick and he controlled player 1 through the analog stick. Long story short we looked like idiots trying to play two players off of one wavebird controller and died a lot. Also it didn't help that c stick only controlled the 2nd player and nothing else (so no attacks or shooting). In retrospect... we were dumb...

It's not embarrassing, well for me atleast.

• I have never played a pokemon game ever or any nintendo game since the gamecube. I just don't care for the art style and gameplay loop of many. They are quality but just not for me.
• I love trophies and achievements and hunt them. They actually do inform and sway my purchasing decisions.
• I was burned back to back on Destiny 1 and 2. Haven't made that mistake with other games since. Hype is mostly non existent.

- I really really enjoyed the volleyball and gambling aspects of Dead or Alive Extreme while playing my custom soundtrack.
- Dragonball GT Final Bout was my favorite Dragonball until BT3
- I create and play female characters because it's more appealing to me and my preference over male protagonists.
- I liked Dragon Age 2
- I bought Devil May Cry 2 at launch price.
- I am very very bad in Mortal Kombat games but I still find joy just playing it. I have a horrible online loss record but I still keep at it.

One time I was having sex with this girl and like 10 min in I realized I really didnt care about her or the situation at all and so I kid you not the entire time I was thinking about FFXIV and the plot, the character arcs and motivations.
Like I really got into it and proposed theories to myself then would try to reason why those theories wouldnt pan out. Then I planned out a redesign of my skill layout on my hud panels because I felt my dps rotation could be inproved with a layout change (it was).
FFXIV is a great game man.

On my very first playthrough on Pokemon Green, I used a Master Ball on a Ditto not realizing you only get one in the game.

One of the first times I ever "rubbed one out" was to Chun Li's ending screen in Street Fighter 2.

I don't actually know how much time I've spent playing and re-playing Sonic Heroes, because the save file timer stops at 100 hours.

That's not so embarrassing (SA1 didn't have competitive multiplayer and SA2 wasn't on PC), maybe, but the fact that I don't regret it at all might be.

Best $2.50 I've spent on a game, quite possibly.

Never beaten a Mario game besides odyssey.

Touched myself to the original polygon images of Lara croft from TR1 in 1996 or there abouts.

Had my mom bring back resident evil cause I was too scared to play it. I ended up with suidoken so it wasn't all embarrassing.

I have played every single mainline Final Fantasy game since 6 and have seen the end credits of 0 of them.

I also had the choice of a Game Boy or Game Gear and I chose the Game Gear because I wanted The Bernstein Bears and Garfield. 🤷‍♀️
