He gives the general direction of the game and supervises production,but he's not anymore in day to day development. They credit him as a director nonetheless,because fans worship him as a god and if his name is not there,they become angry
It is already a word though. It is an archaic verb meaning "to Age". They would also possibly want to avoid the word "elder" due to its association with other game series.
Both meanings are equally possible at this point, and it might even be a newly created world based on "Eldritch".

Weren't there rumors about From switching to Unreal Engine for future titles? Did they ever confirm that? Wondering if this might be their first game on it.

Deracine was on Unreal Engine 4 so this wouldn't be the first.
Is Sekiro the only project of theirs that hasn't leaked before E3 lately? I feel like it's been happening since Bloodborne.
There should be a fair amount of crossover between their fanbases, I think. If you appreciate deep, expertly crafted worlds, rich in history and lore, both have work that's absolutely essential.

Their PSVR game deracine was a test run for UE4, when they'll do bigger projects is up in the air.
When the idea of GRRM and From was first floated, it seemed completely implausible. An out of nowhere announcement would have been shocking, but watching that rumour go from impossible to real had it's own charm.
Let's be real, Salvatore's contribution to Amalur was minimal at best after the development hell that game went though.

I think it's more that Miyazaki hasn't wanted to do it yet, like he said. Not that Sony doesn't want to do it.
