People are dumb enough to but incomplete products. We have proven that to the suits at these companies time and again. They know most of us will eat this shit up day one so if they can hustle you...they will.
And yet 99.99 percent of people outside the forum anthem hate bubble would never notice, nor did any of these issues beyond normal launch tweaking actually get in the way of the game being one of the best experiences and most fun things to play in years for me and many others.
Been thinking that a lot the last few years about a lot of the things they keep doing.
Try switching to 1080p and supersampling off, it runs unlocked then. Are you sure? I read yesterday the game was running between 15-30fps on Pro
I think people are overreacting. The beta had a lot of server issues, yes, but a lot of that cleared up on Sunday and the game was actually pretty fun. They have a month to fullproof their servers now. Let's wait and see how it actually turns out. The open beta will be a good test as well.
And personally, I really don't care that the 60fps thing is coming later.
Fortnite was patched to 60fps at some point. (cue b b but it´s free posts)
Fair, I had some group errors on Sunday too (I didn't say everything was fixed). But I got through a lot of the missions, where Friday and Saturday I couldn't even get into the game at all.I tried all day sunday and only got into one group session. Expedition, the dungeon and any group quests wouldn't even load. That shit was FAR from fixed sunday, and I know damn well I wasn't the only one still locked ou. This weekend will be the real test.

That's really not a fair comparison, and I think you know that. That's a single player demo, these issues aren't even possible there.I don't think people are overreacting at all. We are not even a month away and the game appears to be in an incredibly rough state. Most people couldn't even log on and those that did had a 50/50 chance to make it past load screens. Real confidence builder right there.
This is like, the exact opposite of the RE2 demo. That showed confidence in a product and solidified my purchase. The Anthem demo shows me to stay the hell away and get it cheap in 6 months.
EA gave them 7 years to make this game. 7 years. if they cant get it done in 7 years, its on them.Anthem will be out in less than a month and based on the Vip demo a technical disaster is coming, and everyone who followed closely the game development suspected it, just like it was with Andromeda: the game is being rushed because it needs to be out before the fiscal year comes to an end.
So besides the state of the demo [a 6 weeks old build], now we have this
What the hell? how can it be more clear that this?
When will EA understand than the controversy and bad press around their games is doing a far more significant damage than delay the games the months they need, even if it means missing the fiscal year deadline?
Since March 2012 (when ME3 released), Naughty Dog have released TLOU, uncharted 4, uncharted lost legacy and will soon release TLOU2. thats four games in that span.

Bioware Montreal (ME:Andromeda) and Bioware Austin are/were not the same dev team.Bioware have also made DA Inquisition and ME:A in between. So ME3, DA, ME:A and Anthem - booyah! 4 games in the same timespan.

You can't really compare a single player narrative vs. a GAAS / Looter shooter, but I agree the Anthem demo just caused more harm than good. It's kinda silly, but I do believe calling it a demo, and not a beta was a mistake. I think a lot of the technical issues would have been less impactful on the reception just with that change in lanugage from demo to beta.
I still think Anthem will be extremely successful, but they took a huge step back with the demo. Even Destiny's alpha and beta were really strong. This seems to me to be the case of a publisher telling the team they need to put a demo out, and the developer either not having the resources, or the interest producing a competent version. My assumption is that bioware saw the demo as a distraction to the development of the actual game, and it wasn't given the care it needed. I'm optimistic that the final product will run well and be competent at release. However, I'm definitely going to wait for reviews and watch a few streams before jumping in myself.
The people I feel worst for are bioware fans. I feel like the odds of seeing a new bioware dragon age have decreased ever so slightly after this weekend.
Did they?Didn't somebody leak this news on here already a few months ago that this game was a developmental nightmare and wouldn't be ready for launch? Might even get delayed again??
I dont really see the link between the quote to be fair. I mean i love a 60fps option but they dont know when and how long it takes to get there. I mean they are not gonna hold back a release for a 60fps option for two consoles wich probably have the smallest playerbase. Dont see what that links to EA rushing.
Exactly.

Spoken by someone who has no idea how game development works of the woes of how Andromeda was made.
Lets wait and see how the final release is. Optimization is always done at the very end.I mean, he's saying they don't have enough time to optimize the game. Sure, the question is about a 60 fps mode, but we know as of the demo, it doesn't run at 30 either. I think it's fair to read between the lines here, no?
I'll try and find it, but the person who leaked it has been proven reliable in the past with their past leaks
Not always no, it's an ongoing process, but point taken. I do think there's a chance it'll be better at launch, but I still think this current unusual situation is worth discussing. It's disingenuous to say there's nothing worth discussing at this time.Lets wait and see how the final release is. Optimization is always done at the very end.
Anthem had like 6 years of dev time. Even Andromeda had like 5.
Did BioWare use that time effectively? Possibly not. But these are NOT Dragon Age II situations where EA imposed a tight deadline. BioWare was given ample time for these games.
I never said that? I just said i dont see the link between EA rushing and waiting for a 60fps mode at some point. Wich affects 2 out of the 5 platforms. Not always no, it's an ongoing process, but point taken. Feb 22th officially. 15th for Origin/EA access.

Dont think that they are not waiting on that is rushing.
