Haven't played an EA game since Inquisition I think. I'm not boycotting them, their games just don't appeal to me.

This year is gonna be interesting for sure. Pretty good start with Apex Legends, which I haven't played yet, but I will when I can find the time.
I do expect them to stumble a bit with Anthem in terms of public perception. Whether that will be a temporary mess limited to the launch window or a year-long bad news story remains to be seen.

But then Jedi: Fallen Order should -if all goes well- buy them some goodwill again.
I'm definitely interested in that one, as well as Sea of Solitude.

EA would be in a bad place if it wasn't for Respawn. But yeah, 2019 could end up being alright for them in terms of the perception of their output by people like us. How that will be reflected (or not) by the larger marketplace will be a fascinating thing to see.

The last 2 service games I've played have been EA titles (BFV and Apex) and my next title (Anthem) will be an EA title.
Honestly, they've made the best long lasting games for me. Im shocked there is a somewhat positive EA thread on ERA though.

Hey I just have to say thanks for trying your hardest to turn things around on the BF2 subreddit, dude. I still pop in there every now and then and it's clear you've worked hard since you took your position. It looks like you've helped communication between developers and players as the new community manager so credit is due. Unfortunately, I see you get some nasty hate from the more toxic members of the community so I just thought some positivity was needed.

On topic: The lineup is ok. I just really hope Respawn has a great Star Wars game on their hands. I've been waiting to see it for some time. Please just give us some fantastic Star Wars games.

Apex Legends is good so far. I'm in for Titanfall and probably Fallen Order. The rest is not that interesting though. PvZ seems to have had troubled development if this is a garden warfare game. A new spin on PvZ could be exciting though. However, a new Need for Speed will have to win me over because that hasn't been fun for a long time.

That demo for Anthem killed any hope I had of it being a compelling game.

Basically it's just Respawn keeping things interesting for EA for me personally. I'll care about EA's larger portfolio when Dragon Age and a Battlefield reminiscent of BF1 are their focus.

I've been disappointed with most EA games the past few years (I don't play sports games tbh), so I'm not expecting much except for Respawns games. Apex Legends seems fun and I'm looking forward to their Star Wars games.

I 'm a PC oriented SP most of the time, not a PvPer, which does not like to have MTX in games but tolerates them if they are cosmetics.
So, let's see what EA has for me

  1. Apex Legends (Respawn) - No.
  2. Anthem (BioWare) - It was a No but now it is a distant maybe because i am always curious of Bioware's offerings.
  3. Sea of Solitude (EA Originals) - That is a maybe, when on sale sometime, if reviewed well. But i can not see me buying this in 2019 and so does my backlog.
  4. A brand new Titanfall game (Respawn?) - Yes, sometime in 2019. IF it has a campaign as good as the second game had which was great.
  5. New Need for Speed (Ghost Games) - I do not play racing games often and i fear for the MTX scheme of this game. Last game's model was terrible.
  6. New Plants Vs. Zombies/Garden Warfare 3 (PopCap games or EA Vancouver) - A fancy shooter perhaps? Not interested.
  7. Star Wars The Fallen Order (Respawn) - Yes, i am interested in this game.
  8. Your usual EA Sports titles, FIFA, MADDEN, NBA, NFL. - Nope. Never. MTX greed Alert.
  9. Battlefield Firestorm (Criterion Games/DICE) - No.
I think there will be millions of people that will be attracted to EA but most of their games are not for me.

Well I don't know, I honestly doubt all those titles will actually be released this year. If that's the case yeah, it's a rich offer for sure. I'll hold my judgment on the "interesting" part until all/most games are at least presented.

Apex is pretty good so far, even if I'm not the intended target. I wasn't impressed by the Anthem beta/demo but, there too, probably I'm not the intended target.

This year looks strong and is off to a pretty great start with Apex Legends. I am really hoping we see Garden Warfare 3 as I missed out on 2.

Yeah, I've really been digging EA's output for a while. Even Battlefront 2 really turned around from it's launch and has been a pretty fantastic game to play casually, and a really great value too (I love the DLC model once they addressed things), and I genuinely love Battlefield V and play it almost daily with friends, though there are a few nitpicks.

EA stated they will continue support for BFV until SEP 2020. I am hoping it can make a Siege/No Man's sky style comeback in that time period. I love the game and want to see where they go with it.

Apex is ok, and I don't normally like BR games, but I see it as a filler between whatever comes next for Titanfall.

Online shooters, sports games,I have no faith that NFS will be any good.........EA aren't really a publisher that makes games I want to play anymore.
The indie game may be good(because it won't have the hand of Andrew Wilson on it),and I love Star Wars as much as the next guy......again though,I'm doubtful they won't do something to make it unappealing to me.....we'll see.

Plants vs Zombies? Ugh...I feel like it's been damaged enough. What are they going to do? Another mtx laden mobile game or another Garden Warfare that nobody's going to buy?

And Need for Speed needs to get back on track.

Wait what? Respawn has Apex Legends, Titanfall 3 and Stars Wars in the same year? Jesus how many people do they have working in there?

I seriously doubt on Titanfall 3 and im looking forward to a Star Wars made by people that know how to handle a single player campaign with *gasp* good and fun gameplay.

I think this sounds like corporate shilling

Gotta love that half the threads are about people drooling over beloved companies' or franchises' upcoming stuff, speculating over the tiniest pixel of a datamine, but how dare someone call the upcoming line-up of games of a "big evil publisher" interesting without being accused of being a shill? I personally care about a decent amount of franchises EA owns the rights for, and the last few years basically only had FIFA, Battlefield and a couple indies that would interest me enough to play them. Oh, and Titanfall 2. On the contrary, this year will have a couple new IPs, the return of some we haven't seen for a few years, a few ambitious and slightly different projects from they have released so far... "interesting" is a word I'd use too, yeah.

It looks extremely uninteresting to me. EA has nothing I want to play these days. I haven't bought an EA game in years. It is as simple as them not making games that appeal to me anymore.

I used to play games like Dead Space and their C&C / Middle Earth RTS games and other "traditional" games over the past decades. A shame to see such a big publisher make nothing of interest now.

I couldn't care less about online service games and sports games.

I mean the BF Firestorm is a mode, not a game.

Only interested in the Star Wars game from that list

All I get from the OP is that Respawn is single-handedly saving EA this year.

But that they still do very little that interests me. Peggle, Dead Space, Mass Effect, Burnout etc - all my favourite franchises.. just.. dead.

So, in 2019 EA confirmed the following games by the end of the year:
  1. Apex Legends (Respawn)
  2. Anthem (BioWare)
  3. Sea of Solitude (EA Originals)
  4. A brand new Titanfall game (Respawn?)
  5. A new entry in the Need for Speed series (Ghost Games)
  6. A new entry in the Plants Vs. Zombies series, most likely Garden Warfare 3 (PopCap games or EA Vancouver)
  7. Star Wars The Fallen Order (Respawn)
  8. Your usual EA Sports titles, FIFA, MADDEN, NBA, NFL.
  9. Battlefield Firestorm (Criterion Games/DICE)
As an Origin Premier subscriber since December 2018 i'm interest in a lot of these games and hopefully, things like Need for Speed and Garden Warfare 3 will end up being good.
I'm not worried about SW, Respawn track record and the recent Apex Legends smooth launch is more than enough for me to be confident and i really liked EA Originals titles.

What do you guys think?

Different strokes I guess. To me it reads like a greatest hits compilation of schlock made for mass consumption. Not a single game I would download as a PSplus game, let alone buy it.

Where's SimCity? Where's Dungeon Keeper? Theme Park? A real Command & Conquer?

Compared to what EA used to be, I would never say that but It looks better than the past 2-3 depressing years at least.

But I still have very little interest on their lineup, it relies on the same things I don't care.

Not saying these games are gonna be bad, but your interpretation of "interesting" varies wildly from mine. Looks like a pretty standard bunch of titles to me.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for Anthem

Apex is neat. Respawn has laid down a solid foundation, and I'm hoping they're quicker with meaningful updates than Treyarch is.

I hope PvZ GW3 is as charming and packed with content as its predecessors. Just don't make the mistake of launching at full price again.

I have zero hope for NFS. Ghost Games have struck out on all three attempts at the genre.

Can't wait to see what the secret Titanfall project is, and I'm sure their Star Wars project will be, at worst, solid

For me is more of a ? Year, because I have no idea what any of these games will be.

And this is the first time I heard about battlefield firestorm. What's that?

Not sure most are sequels, and we have no idea how the star wars game will be,. I don't see much interesting there at all tbh. Maybe sea od solitude and Apex, the rest...not sure about that, pretty un-inspired.

Rich and interesting is not how I would describe that list. But hey if that's the kind of games you get excited for then have fun

This, but different strokes for different folks and all that. Just re-affirms I will avoid most anything from EA.

Hold on, Jedi Fallen Order is a 2019 release? Or is this one of those Fiscal Year kind of deals?

Edit: also, to those complaining about EA's output, you're probably sleeping on Burnout Paradise Remastered (or maybe played it to death before, but still). That game's the bomb.

Ah yes, a high res version of a 10 year old game sold initially for a greedy joke price of £35 only to be hubristically discounted two weeks later by 25%. It is a stunning display of EA's output but not a positive one.

It also had redone textures and all the DLC (which is a lot, actually). Tons of fun, don't see the problem with the price (especially since some remasters are even more expensive and have even less content/improvements).

I wish they would drop open world in NFS...

Jedi Fallen Order will be great - I believe in Respawn single-player.
