E3 should really stop happening at this rate. It isn't worth it for a couple of trailers.

That looks like Salesforce Experience Cloud to me, which - if well designed - is very secure. This looks like a bodge of bad config and poorly developed own components.

It is a bit messy and in general it feels like media week is essentially a beta test. It's novel, but odd.

But regarding that About Me section, it doesn't pull in data and it's basically the equivalent of the little byline on Twitter/most social media sites. I could see why someone would get confused and fill it in like that though, they probably should have some example text there, or a character limit.

Yeah, I didn't fall for their ridiculous call to sign up for what they seriously called "those tasty media credentials." It's a joke. Again.

I get the feeling we'll see plenty of leaks this week thanks to E3 screwing up the media interactions

Why did any company trust them enough to give them a second chance when it's all gonna be digital streams anyway is beyond me

Maybe folks should decide to use this as a(nother) lesson and walk away from the charade. These companies can, and I reckon already planned to, market their own games via their own streams without assistance. It's for what… a stamp of approval, or just an artificial connection to the good old days?

My favorite "booth" is Nintendo's. As of right now, at least, their page advertises their upcoming Direct (fair) and then their schedule is completely blank. Mind you, everyone's schedules are completely blank. But what I love about Nintendo, in particular, is that they haven't even bothered to fill in that one specific timeslot.

Because what's the point? It's all a mess.

This is what drives me wild. Quests? Quests? I keep going back to the portal page and blinking to make sure I'm really seeing this.
I am not a journalist, but shit like this would drive me up a wall. Just let me do my job and try not to dox me. No one wants more than that

It does still offer up networking tools, so I could see some benefit to companies internally. Pretty sure there are plenty of other outlets for that, though.

From a marketing perspective it makes a bit more sense for smaller publishers, especially if the gamification stuff works as intended. Folks will watch indie game trailers they'd have never considered before to get points for a spot on the leaderboard. A bit dystopian, but I get it.

But for Nintendo/Microsoft/Ubi/etc.? I doubt there'll be much there on a consumer level you can't get elsewhere.

To be fair, the ESA have to try to convince publishers that an expo that doesn't physically exist still has more value that just live streaming to Twitch/Youtube.

They can't just have tools that work, they kinda have to do more.

LOL this is beautiful chaos, hopefully nobody gets doxed this year....... :|

Like half of this feels like what should be for a general fan to do, not a games journalist.

Why do publishers need E3 for a digital event again?
what is E3 providing that publishers and devs need to deal with all this crap?

And people gave me shit for saying everyone should pull a Sony and pull out to make their own events...

E3 is a mess. Can't believe they let this shit happen once again.

Lemme tell you right now that's not going to happen.

There's probably some bozo that was able to get access to the media portal with like "sly cooper" and "leak announcements LLC" as their credentials. And even if the ESA did a good job vetting who got access someone will probably break the password considering they can't be 12 characters or more which is laughable.

i mean, i seriously doubt there's gonna be something worthwhile coming out of this mess. the site is barebones so leaks are less likely to happen due to there being nothing to leak.

Gamifying your conferences is pretty common. My company has been doing crap like this at our conference for years (we're not in gaming, but in tech). This is probably just an off the shelf event platform

Yeah, it's a clunky mess and most of the booths are pretty much barren at the moment. Not sure how much mileage we'll be getting out of the system at this rate.

Yeah, it's nonsense. I can only imagine what's going to happen when masses of fans hit this thing.

I didn't even bother signing up this year, whats the point if it isn't in person? At least with GDC there is actual content which may or may not be useful...

Lol out of all the booths, Capcom at least had the decency of confirming certain games that would make an appearance unlike others, and now their booth is gone.

Holy crap. I don't doubt there's probably a lot of security holes this year as well
