Nah, leaks/rumors seems about on par. People say this literally every year and it's never right.
Huh? Usually one week before E3, half the frontpage is leaks, spoiler warnings and rumors. There's nothing there this time. The only juicy thing has been Omnipotent in the Fromsoftware thread, and even then he naturally didn't spill the beans completely.

Least hyped E3 ever?

For me it is anyway. Some hype towards MS talking about their next gen plans, but nothing else.
For me it is at least. I'm usually extremely hyped by now.

Sony skipping this year has a lot to do with the lack of hype, but I guess that's what people wanted after last year, everyone saying their conference was utter shit... and I still think it was the best conference last year, by far.
Oh well, I guess I'll be ok with the Death Stranding trailer. Still want to see how Halo Infinite looks and Watch Dogs 3.

It wont happen, but what if, just what if, microsoft uses sony's absence to go all the fuck out. I mean next gen announcement, specs, the boxes, games. And what if, they say eff it and launch these boxes in spring 2019 like nintendo did with the switch. They could get out ahead of sony like they did with the 360
It would make sense. But at the same time, the OneX isn't that old. I remember all the WiiU owners being upset at having bought a console that "only" lasted for half a decade.
MS will absolutely use Sonys absence by getting to showcase almost every third party game under the sun though. It worked last year with Cyberpunk, Sekiro and so on. It's only going to be more this time around. Can't wait.

- no big surprises as we already know
- Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order will be one of the most safe (generic) single player Star Wars, not even close to 1313 insane reveal.
- Apex Legends Season 2 will mark the shift from being just a more hardcore Fortnite. Apex Legends Mobile coming to Android/iOS and Nintendo Switch.
- Hints at The Sims 5 (just a mention, no trailers)

Ubisoft:
- Roller Champions will open the press conference. Coming in few months, beta registration available now. Gameplay described as fun but with high replayability, they will specifically mention that you can also play it on the go with the Switch and for that reason they will show a second trailer with exclusive Mario + Rabbids characters (e.g. you can play as Rabbid Peach)
- Watch Dogs 3 is their big announcement for this year, they will spend their time showing how many cool things you can do in London, gameplay should be closer to the first game. Coming end of October
- Just Dance section with Camila Cabello singing on stage.
- New DLC for Assassin's Creed Odyssey
- Ubisoft Pass Premium announced
- updates on all their existing GaaS: The Division 2, For Honor, Rainbow Six,...
- Splinter Cell - CGI trailer - coming next year

Microsoft
The tone of the conference will be the "play anywhere" "we love all gamers" we've also heard in previous conferences, in that context they will clarify that:
- Next gen is happening next year: they'll show gameplay footage of Anaconda games + a video with a bunch of devs saying how great it is (no official name) - Fall 2020
- Existing Xbox One S and X will be supported for years to come
- xCloud is coming on PC and smartphones by the end of this year and possibly they'll have a live demo on stage to show how great it already is (obviously we know about Game Pass coming to PC)
- They will announce that Xbox services like Live, Game Pass and xCloud are coming to the Nintendo Switch as well. Doug Bowser will show up at Xbox press conference for this occasion.

- All their first party studio will have a teaser/trailer for their upcoming game which is semi-confirmed already.

- New Studio acquisition: either Studio MDHR or Playful Corp. (although to me they need a japanese studio)

- Big third party reveals: RE8 trailer (coming fall next year), FF16 teaser (no dates, no gameplay), Dragon Age trailer (coming next year), Darksiders Genesis (more info to come at its own panel), From Software / George R.R. Martin game (teaser, no gameplay)

Bethesda:
- Fallout 76 -> new update coming, they'll acknowledge the rough launch but they won't say sorry for it and pretend the game will blow your mind with the new contents
- The Evil Within 3 announced (Mikami's game)
They will talk about Starfield and TES 6 both coming next gen (CGI trailers for both)

Square Enix:
- Avengers game: it won't be the big blow out people expect though, they will show a story trailer with gameplay, dev diary also possible.
- FF16 (exact same trailer from the Microsoft press conference, no gameplay, no date)
- FFVII episode one coming February 2020
- Life is Strange new Episode (exact same trailer from Microsoft press conference)
- Dragon Quest Walk confirmed for the West.
- Kingdom Hearts 3 DLC
- Oninaki - new trailer with release date (september)
- Babylon's Fall - new trailer (no release date)

Nintendo:
- They open with Luigi's Mansion 3, showing more of the hotel, with themed floors and the story. Release Date: October 2019
- Remake of the original Professor Layton officially announced. Coming Q1 2020.
- Ultimate Alliance 3 final trailer showing the other X-Men characters playable.
- Overwatch on Switch is happening. Coming this fall (in time for Blizzcon 2019)
- Astral Chain new trailer showing more of its unique combat (co-op multiplayer too?) and the story.
- Suda51 will announce its new game and it's not No More Heroes 3. (unfortunately)
- Dragon Quest XI S new trailer coming December 2019 + Erdrick in Smash
- Reminders for Pokémon Sword/Shield, Super Mario Maker 2, Link's Awakening in a sizzle reel with a series of third party games: Roller Champions, God Eater 3, Apex Legends Mobile, Wolfenstein Youngblood, Cadence of Hyrule, Doom Eternal...
- Story trailer for Fire Emblem Three Houses: i'm expecting an hype trailer but it won't answer concerns regarding the battle maps.
- Microsoft will announce that Ori and The Blind Forest, Super Lucky's Tale and Forza Street (this one shadowdrop) are coming to the Switch with Xbox Live integration
- Animal Crossing big 10 minutes section, coming September 2019.
- Teaser for BOTW 2 -> same engine as BOTW, darker tone similar to Majora's Mask.

Every new Mua3 trailer has generally either had new teams or a team focus and I doubt we'll get one for two more characters. I expect a team expansion(likely inhumans) and a new team or two and some solo characters

I think we might get a second trailer for DLC plans during its own Treehouse segment.

Sure but there's still stuff left in the maingame most of the stuff we've seen is in the first fourth. The only three X-men teased but not confirmed are Beast, Cyclops and Colossus and they are likely all late game unlocks. The main trailer for the e3 direct should be a major team or just general character reveal. We will likely pass 45 characters in the base roster alone considering late game unlocks and the confirmed handful of infinity trial unlockable who are likely to be bonus characters either not involved in the story or bosses that wouldn't join you in the story

A third or fourth gameplay mode outside of story and infinity trials is likely too

Yeah yeah the trailer will be a recap of some of the things we know: story is about finding the infinity stones, they will show a bunch of new funny cutscenes and the three remaining X-Men characters as playable. I'm expecting something similar to the last one we've got.

The rest to me sounds like Treehouse Live material where they'll go in-depth with all the modes, customization, movesets for each character, and details for post launch support. (i'm expecting a season pass). It could be a total of 2-3 segments, with both representatives from Marvel and Team Ninja (probably Yosuke Hayashi)

From's new game will be game of the show and their last large budget game before "next gen".

Nintendo will not show gameplay of MP4 but will announce a MP1-3 release for Switch

Nothing major from Capcom will be there. They said as much if you pay attention.

Nice write-up, though I don't quite get the Fallen Order comment. 1313 looked nice graphically, but piss-poor as an actual game, whereas Respawn is a studio that's praised for its excellent gameplay design.

instead of predicting things this year I've just made a wishlist of stuff I'd love to see:

New Perfect Dark
Dino Crisis
Ninja Theory New IP
New Rocksteady Game
Timesplitters
Kingdom Hearts DLC features FF Characters
We see Tifa and leave Midgar in FF7 Remake
a FF Classic Collection FF 1-6 and maybe even FF Tactics too
FFXVI in production
FFVI Remaster in Octopath Style Switch Launch Exclusive 2020
SNES Games on Switch
Metroid Prime Trilogy on Switch
New main Zelda title tease
New Beyond Good & Evil trailer

I feel like we know a lot about this E3 from the 1st parties, more interested in what we learn from the 3rd parties that don't have events happening.

  • Beyond Good & Evil 2 is absent. Without a showing this year, it's likely this one is probably a cross-gen game. So, probably don't expect a mention of next gen at this conference.
  • Skull and Bones was also announced to be pushed back into 2020. Yeah, this game probably is never coming out. I don't think it will be here.
  • Watch Dogs 3 is pretty much guaranteed, and there's basically nothing exciting to guess at. This game will take place in London and will launch this Fall. We'll probably get a teaser 2-3 days before their conference a la Fallout 4, Rage 2, or Watch Dogs 2. November 15th.
  • Just Dance 2020. Will NOT release for Nintendo Wii. Lil Nas X will do "Old Town Road"
  • Ghost Recon Breakpoint has a co-op gameplay session with bad fake voices. We've seen this before. This isn't exciting.
  • Rainbow Six Siege has a character and map revealed.
  • Horse archers are coming to For Honor
  • The Division 2 is still not political in it's upcoming expansion
  • Roller-blade multiplayer game
  • Ubisoft spends too long on its EA Access
  • Splinter Cell had that weird Twitter debacle last month. I'd be shocked if this doesn't end the conference. Sam Fisher. Ambiguous trailer that ends with the green headlight thing.
  • Trackmania coming to the Switch with the Blue Falcon
EA
  • Jedi Fallen Order is already announced to be there. I genuinely have no takes for this one. Kind of just think it'll have some decent lightsaber combat, but we won't see as much of it as we'd like
  • Apex Legends debuts a new section of the map near "Thunderdome" and a hero with a jet pack ultimate
  • Everything else is lame
Bethesda
  • Doom Eternal releases early October. Emphasis on invasions
  • The Evil Within successor. Not necessarily called The Evil Within 3
  • Elder Scrolls Online update puts us to sleep again
  • Quake Champions is name-dropped but they know better than to show it again
  • Same thing for Elder Scrolls Legends and their mobile game
  • Todd Howard babbles through an awkward joke apology, launches Fallout 76 update. Also it's free now
  • Wolfenstein Youngblood gets a 6 minute demo
  • Elder Scrolls VI and Starfield are AFK
  • Arkane shows off a new project. Not Dishonored
Squeenix
  • Final Fantasy VIII coming to PS4/Switch/XB1
  • There will be no gameplay shown for the upcoming Avengers game
  • Final Fantasy VII gets a fairly short gameplay demo. No online demo, but it is playable at the show, March 2020
  • Oninaki gets a little trailer
  • Babylon's Fall AFK
  • New People Can Fly game. Looks mid, but controls better than Left Alive and The Quiet Man
  • Kingdom Hearts III DLC Part 1. Takes place in Radiant Gardens. You play as Rikku. Coming in November.
  • Dragon Quest XI for Switch gets a short trailer
  • Life Is Strange 2 episode trailer
Microsoft
  • Halo Infinite is going to get a short bit of gameplay reveal. What is shown is a near recreation of "Halo" from Combat Evolved. Very open segments that tunnel into smaller combat zones. No aiming down sights. No story implications are shown
  • The remastered Age of Empires game get a quick mention
  • A car will not appear on stage. Also Forza Horizon 4's new expansion features Halo environments
  • Fable is going to get a quick teaser. No date
  • Dying Light 2 gets an expanded gameplay demo. Also Dying Light is coming to Game Pass
  • Cuphead DLC launches in July
  • Gears 5 launches in November. Not an overly impressive demo
  • Gears Tactics gets a very short look, but this won't be ready yet
  • Gears Pop AFK
  • Ori launches in August
  • Hardware is revealed. Lines up with Scarlett leaks
  • Sekiro DLC is shown off, followed by the George RR Martin From game. Dark Souls I-III coming to Game Pass
  • Ken Lavine's Ghost Story Games shows off a new IP (This one may end up at PC Gaming)
  • Wasteland 3 shown off. Nothing too wild
  • Avengers game gets its gameplay debut here
  • Battletoads looks gross. It'll be out in July
  • Outer Worlds gameplay demo
  • Minecraft and Sea of Thieves get some short updates
  • The Initiative's game
  • Ninja Theory's new IP is one of the show's last announcements
  • Borderlands 3 gets a trailer
  • Cyberpunk gets a trailer (2020 date)
  • Rocksteady's game is a DC multiplayer game
  • Also Montreal is making Batman Beyond
  • It's time. DINO CRISIS
Nintendo
  • Luigi's Mansion 3 is out 10/26
  • Metroid Prime Trilogy is NOT revealed
  • Metroid Prime 4 is absent
  • Pokemon Sword and Shield receive less than 2 ½ minutes of time
  • Ultimate Alliance 3 is shown. Gotta counteract that other Avengers game
  • Bayonetta 3 is absent. Astral Chain's co-op functionality is debuted
  • A brief Link's Awakening trailer
  • Apex Legends is coming to Switch
  • Overwatch is coming to Switch
  • Animal Crossing is shown. It's Animal Crossing. What did you expect? Launches in November
  • Fire Emblem gets a trailer. Still looks like butt, but we're all excited
  • Pikmin 4 is still not a real game
  • Dragon Quest XI followed by Erdrick. This is not the only Smash character announced
  • Dragon Warrior will be coming to Switch's NES thing (We all ask why)
  • Cadence of Hyrule shown off
  • Paper Mario filter for Mario Maker
  • Shin Megami Tensei V finally decides to show up, and it looks goooood (Like not graphically though)
  • Ori coming to Switch
  • Take your choice between Master Chief and Banjo for who's coming to Smash. It'll likely be Banjo, but part of me believes Master Chief would have the bigger impact. Inb4 it's Steve.

  • Ubisoft: Since BG&E2 isn't going to be there, we'll get a Rayman announcement instead - a port/remaster of old Rayman games, a new UbiArt game without Michel Ancel's involvement, or just a port of the mobile UbiArt Rayman games to consoles. If not a Rayman announcement, we will see one last UbiArt game pop up, as stated by Yves Guillemot recently.
I now think it's a bit more likely that a Rayman announcement will be happening, and I am changing my earlier prediction to either a Rayman 2 port/remaster, or even a full remake or a Rayman 4 without Michel Ancel's involvement... though probably nothing that big.
Why? Ubisoft will be streaming a Rayman 2 speedrun before their conference, on their own Twitch, to celebrate that game's 20th anniversary:

They will also be giving away Rayman Origins UPlay copies to everyone watching more than 30mins of the speedrun (provided your Twitch and UPlay accounts are linked).

Nice write-up, though I don't quite get the Fallen Order comment. 1313 looked nice graphically, but piss-poor as an actual game, whereas Respawn is a studio that's praised for its excellent gameplay design.

1313 looked amazing for a 2013 game, no one believed that was made in UE3, and the premise was really cool and well thought then i can totally give you the fact that gameplay was scripted, and generally not as impressive but that didn't take away the shocking reactions most people had for the announcement.

The first trailer or Jedi Fallen Order gave me the impression of a very safe Star Wars game, i think it will look nice but i don't have the same level of interest / excitement i had for 1313.

TES VI and Starfield is comfirmed as a no show.

I like your MS predictions tho, hopefully it's close to what we'll actually see.

Yeah beyond TEW 3 and updates on Fallout 76 i don't know what else Bethesda could announce.

I forgot to mention Wolfenstein Youngblood and Doom Eternal, they will show more of those.

I see this happening Raymond has been mia it feels like for awhile so I'd expect to see a new title. should be a cool speedrun too.

Nothing major from Capcom will be there. They said as much if you pay attention.

I don't expect something that'll magically be playable and release early 2020. As you've said they've already said as much.
However, depending on how the MS Conference goes. A reveal there isn't out of the question (Even if it's a bit farther out). Since Capcom loves their stage reveals and we know the good ol "Trips to Japan" included capcom.

Sony should just release a 30 minute video called "30 minutes with the Playstation 5". Just someone turning it on and switching quickly between next gen games and current gen upgrades just to show how sleek the experience is. That will speak louder than any technical words Microsoft will have at their conference about Xbox 4.

I'm surprised by all the predictions for Watch Dogs this year. Ubisoft said in a presentation to their investors that the 3 new AAA games are releasing in fiscal Q4, which is January through March. Watch Dogs isn't coming in 2019.

They are releasing Breakpoint in Early October. I'd think that one open-world AAA game per quarter would be enough, but what do I know, I'm not a game company exec.
