Still need to find that one person to ask "since you're pushing the new DualSense features, please go a bit over and push for gyro aiming too".
Insomniac with future Rift Apart could do it, I hope.
  • Adaptive Triggers to have 2 functions in one trigger; push it halfway to fire 1 barrel of shotgun or push it full to fire all barrels. In short, they potentially have Resistance's first & secondary fire on one button.
  • Haptic Feedback to every different weapons, surfaces, situations, etc.
  • Touchpad for extra functions like pinch in/out to zoom, swipe up/down/left/right to do whatever like Tsushima did.
  • DualSense microphone for voice command AI, maybe mini-games too.
  • Motion sensor for mini-games and finally, gyro-aiming, besides the traditional right analog stick.
But will Insomniac implement all of it...?

Ooh, this makes me eager to see what Infinity Ward will do with weapons in the next Modern Warfare, considering the original was basically gun porn. I would assume they'll take advantage of the DualSense due to their relationship with Sony.

Gun porn? Now you've done it, I've realised I want a 4K 120fps port of Black with full DualSense support.

Has anybody tested headphones through the 3.5mm jack on the dualsense yet? Or is that a PS5 exclusive function that can't be tested yet?

Finally good disassembly video:

Awesomely packed inside, way more complex than DS4.

Honestly, I think the Battle Beaver Customs breakdown is still by far the best one. He catches a lot of cool things that are missed by this guy.

In particular he goes into the thumbsticks and comes to a slightly different conclusion than the TronicsFix guy does.

The playstation.com page for Resident Evil Village has been expanded with PS5 features:

www.playstation.com

Resident Evil Village - PS4 & PS5 Games | PlayStation

Buy Resident Evil 8 Village on PS4 and PS5. Tragedy befalls Ethan Winters and his wife Mia while they're trying to live peacefully in a new location.
Just wanted to pop in and say that Kena Bridge of Spirits will use the Dualsense functions, confirmed by Ember Lab.
Thank you both. Great to see RE prioritizing the DualSense over the 1080p60 (/s). Somehow I missed Kena on the list, I guess they confirmed that way back when they announced the game, when they talked about her staff becoming a bow. Added to the OT!

Somewhere South
For most of the basic material feedback (footsteps on sand/grass/metal/wood/etc) and a lot of the general sound effects you'll see, low-passing the sound effect itself will give a pretty good approximation of what the vibration should feel like, because, well, it's all the same thing, really - acoustics.

Having a base implementation so easy tor each will guarantee it will be used, with the opportunity for devs to tweak and improve on the results and create unique effects where needed only.

Wont be able to play with one until it shows up with my PS5 next week can anybody tell me how noisy the dual sense is?

I feel like my Dual Shock 4 is a really noisy controller when pressing buttons and moving the sticks, kinda hoping the dual sense is much quieter.

It's definitely much quieter, especially the buttons. Which is all the more important now that there's an integrated microphone.

Thanks, missed this one. Really informative, especially useful info on softer rubber on buttons, looks like I will be putting the DS4 rubber pads in eventually for more satisfying feedback.

So that makes 40 games with confirmed DualSense haptics and adaptive trigger support. Wow

It's 40 games with confirmed or that want to implement DualSense support. Please note that there are a lot of indies that share their ideas for the controller but their games are still far out.

Tbh, I like it that way, it's nice to see what devs of all scopes think about the controller.

Dualsense Dpad definitely is stiffer (not sure mushier) than the Dualshock 4, but it passed my Tetris 99 test(finished first) with ease.

The face buttons are easily my favorite face buttons ever. They make hardly a sound and are so amazingly tactile. Analog sticks appear to have the perfect amount of range and tension. Other than the left analog stick placement, it's my favorite controller. Built like a tank too. Most important to me is that the entire thing is pretty much silent in use as opposed to the Xbox controllers that drive my wife nuts with all the noise they generate.

Got my order from Playstation Direct with one Dualsense... Low and behold.. Someone at FedEx opened my package and stole the Dualsense from inside the box lmao. The box it arrived in looked like it was kicked at a soccer game. Contacted Playstation and should hear back within one business day. Also contacted FedEx to get whatever piece of shit who did it fired. Beyond worried now considering my PS5 will delivered from FedEx as well, probably the same route as well.

Holy shit. I'm always pissed seeing those leaked videos of PS5 because I bet it was someone's pre-order. I'm hoping your PS5 arrives safely.

Huh, the black insert portion seems like it comes right out in that disassembly video. I might buy a handful of just those if they come in colors. Red, blue...

Controller has arrived! It seems to work perfectly but the way they did Analog Triggers is odd. I'm using Joy2Key cus I can't use a mouse atm, so Controllers are my mice, and everything works flawless input-wise - except the triggers. The triggers do a weird thing where when rapidly pressed they jus don't seem to consistently register? May be something else I'm missing though!

EDIT: Got it working flawlessly now, just had to restart Joy2Key! Excellent excellent.

Controller feels fantastic, super bulky (just a tiny bit more than Switch pro, but not much). May have to get the charging dock down the line?

Wish face buttons were slightly larger though!

I don't have a whole lot of experience with the Xbox One controller and don't own one, but I think you'll like the additional surface area of the new triggers on the DualSense. They are noticeably larger under your fingers, so you don't feel as much of the edges when using them.
That's the only thing that concerns me, I wonder why didn't they make some angular cut for both triggers and bumpers, like on xbox controller. It is much easier to press them from the side that way.

I'd like to hear more comparisons with Xbox one controller comfort wise. I'm one of the few who didn't find DS4 that comfortable, so I hoped they'd make it bigger and closer to Xbox controller in shape.

One more thing: can L1 and R1 be pressed from the side close to triggers? The shape is there, if they are easily pressable that way, that would make swiching between triggers and bumpers much easier.

The wait is killing me...
