you aren't getting it. You do have foam, it's just not in the glass anymore.
the problem is not letting the foam get created in the first place.
I remember when we were teenagers we used to drink cans of cider through straws because we thought it made you more drunk.
I'm going to be honest. If I'm on a date and the guy drinks his beer with a straw, I'm walking out.
OmG. There is foam. The whole point of a pour straight down the middle is to make foam. It's just that most places are cheap bastards and don't keep pouring through. For the best pour you need to keep pouring letting the glass overflow and spill the foam out.
I will continue to pour my beer correctly and let the foam settle in the beer, like it should. You can do whatever that... Is. Agree to disagree.

On the contrary, I like to get as much foam as possible. I hold the bottle straight up and pour it right down the middle. If it's gluggling out too slowly, then I'll give it a few shakes like a ketchup bottle.
I don't get why you're having so much trouble getting what this dude is saying. The video you linked is explaining how to avoid lost profits (not a concern for the person drinking) and CO2 build up in the drink (which isn't relevant to what they're saying).
They're just saying to overpour the beer until there's no room for a head. The CO2 still gets released and spills over the glass instead of forming a head that stays on top and the drinker gets a full glass of beer that has properly expelled its CO2.
