Yes it matters, this first show has been watched by thousands of people around the world, put Dreams in this would have helped the game (more visibility)
SoP would have given it a lot more exposure, the main issue with dreams right now is not enough people know or care about it, this could have been the opportunity to show more people what dreams is.
This and mlb didn't make sense to not show.
And launching 10 days before days gone? Come on!
We should be thankful they didn't. Less competition that day.

This announcement should've capped off the State of Play presentation. Mind boggling that it wasn't even included. Would've gone down a treat and saved Sony from dislike doom on Youtube... maybe.
I doubt it alone would have saved them from the dislikes, but there were a bunch of stuff that could have been there.

For the people asking why it wasn't in the SoP; I'm sure it will get a blowout in a SoP closer to its actual release since this one will be limited. I believe Sony wants to specifically expose the games in SoPs that will have full releases in 1 to 3 months or so.
The blog makes it sound like you're not gonna have to watch the site like it's Black Friday. I figure if you get in on day 1 you're golden. Not sure how long they'll keep it up though
They are not about to have everyone buy the game for $29.99 especially when it gives you full access when it fully launches

Yeah, been a few announcements since which would have made a lot of sense there. Like this, the Borderlands teaser and the Wolfenstein VR game.
This basically. I guess they had not yet got the Go Ahead by Mm? Still, off by 3 days is weird.
Also, very excited about the game, but the beta told me that I just don't have the time I used to have to fiddle with creation tools, so I'd better leave a spot for creators in the EA.

Considering it is going to be very limited, they probably did not want to put a spotlight on it in the state of play event. Also maybe the stream itself was done a couple of months ago like someone mentioned above.

Oops just looked at the full FAQ, my bad. Might be worth adding to the OP list of quotes since that's a major point.
This is the full game. Once that launches this turns into that for everyone that purchased it with no additional costs. So there's nothing tonedeaf about it. The final game is unlikely to be $30, so EA people are getting a really good deal on it.

Early access lets creators make stuff that will be there for the full release for others to be able to play and remix on their own
Definitely going to be checking the store like crazy come the 16th. The chance to get underway with creation that much sooner is all I needed to hear.
Their big story mode + VR are not ready yet (Maybe they will add some tools and/or templates for full release)
And another reason, this early access would allow to bring A LOT of contents available day one when the full version will release
Pretty sure they want a lot of content to be made before anyone reviews the game as the tools are complicated to the point where it's going to take people a LONG time to make good stuff.
I would Argue Dreams has had a ton of exposure within the last 2 years. State of Play wasn't as well received as we wanted it to be.
It will be removed from the store after a certain number of copies have been sold. The beta had 20,000 people in it. I reckon Early Access will be around 50,000-100,000 based on how MM employees have responded to tweets regarding this
