Lol, I just looked at portcrystal locations on the wiki and realized I managed to just totally miss the one in Witchwood, despite doing the first quest that sends you in there.
I don't think you can get that one until a later quest.Lol, I just looked at portcrystal locations on the wiki and realized I managed to just totally miss the one in Witchwood, despite doing the first quest that sends you in there.
There's an area that only opens up when you're sent there for a second quest, which is where the crystal can be found. You wouldn't find it after the Quina quest, it will be later on in the game. You probably haven't missed anything.
Ahh good to know, thanks again :)
Yeah, this makes doing escorts for affinity/rewards way less of a headache - it's not really worth it otherwise. I also always put one on the ledge outside the witchwood overlooking the cassardis road because I hate wandering around in there.

Same, though it feels slightly wasteful in Dark Arisen since they added that free one outside Cassardis (at least, I don't remember that existing before).
I was thinking I'd throw my first one at the healing spring, but I haven't ventured to it yet so I don't remember if it's actually far enough away from Gran Soren to warrant one.
Trying to get Badge of Vows 25.
With a fighter.
Don't judge me.
Hit it with a rock. Didn't fall down. Gonna reroll my sorc for a min. 90 minutes of various tries is enough lol
Thanks for doing this (even though you don't have the game lol). It's going to be super useful.
I think hiding the link didn't work though!
Hiding worked, I saw the link as well but I tried using Incognito mode and was met with a message that I had to reply to the thread in order to see the hidden content.
This is awesome - thank you. I guess the HIDE function is just that - it hides from non-ERA members. It appears you see it by default if you're already logged into your ERA account.
Edit: vestan Perhaps you can include the spreadsheet link in the OP or the second post?
Just to let you know, in case you didn't already, any class who can levitate can levitate up onto that ledge. It's a decent spot to farm a bit of money really early on, as that chest drops some valuable items.
My biggest complaint right now (just did a quest or two after meeting the duke) is that I seem way overlevelled for everything. Combat has become kind of trivial, which is satisfying for now, but the complete lack of challenge will get old fast.
Also thanks to everyone who added me as a friend. :)

FUCK.
Got locked out of that Quina quest because I progressed too far apparently.
The Warrior bandits were fucking me up so I decided to put it off until a little later. After doing the Dungeon in the city I felt like going back and finishing it only to find that I've been locked out. Now I know there's NG+ but I get the feeling that that quest would become somewhat important or at least lead to something cool later down the line. Guess I should have consulted to OP of this thread before playing.
Wish I could rotate saves. Guess I just have to deal with it.

Hey folks, if you plan on using the spreadsheet to log your info, please also post at least your Friend Code here.
Thanks!
There's an actual separate NG+.Is hard mode essentially NG+ or is there an actual separate NG+?
If it bothers you enough, it's probably worth letting you know that you can restart the game with all your inventory (yes that means you get to keep the portcrystals and pick them up again too) by switching to hard mode.
Just putting that out there for people who are hardcore completionists and miss something early on that they don't mind blitzing through again. I remember I did that on PS4 and was kind of stoked on starting the game with 2 bonus portcrystals.
I think I'm just gonna restart it on normal. Dont really care about the completionist aspect but hearing how much I'm gonna miss out on bums me out enough to want to restart. Kinda 5-6 hours down the drain but I guess I can get through a lot faster now that I know what I'm doing.
Just started up a new game, so excited! I'm Xena and my pawn will be Gabrielle lol

Glad to see all the help with everyone in this thread. Everyone is legit for this. Especially for newcomers or those like me who last played in 2012.
You can restart on hardmode and switch back to normal without restarting if it's rough. Keeps your inventory, levels and unlocked skills.
I was tempted to do hard mode now, but the increased gold and exp ends up making it not very hard eventually anyway.
Good to know. Thanks for the tip, I'd love to keep all of my skills/levels. I will drop it back down to normal though.
Gonna save hardmode for after I'm done with it and feel like going back.
Yeah.My first ever playthrough was on normal on PS3. When it released on PS4 I went with hard mode and after the first 15 levels or so the difficulty wasn't really there. Additionally, I was leveling up quickly and was wealthy enough to get top tier weapons from merchants consistently. You can restart on hardmode and switch back to normal without restarting if it's rough. While climbing on the neck, the giant will usually attempt to grab you. If that misses, he'll end up grabbing the helm instead. When you're fighting one of the giants with a helmet can you destroy the helmet? I've climbed up one and whales on it but I could destroy it. I even think my pawn says to destroy it.
OH neat. I really like all the little details in this game. While climbing on the neck, the giant will usually attempt to grab you. If that misses, he'll end up grabbing the helm instead.
Ha, I'm on digital sales. I just happen to be a huge DDDA fan first and foremost as you can probably tell by my profile icon. :)
Magick Archer is really strong in BBI. Most people who love Magick Archer are mostly talking about how strong it is late game in everafall+bbi.Anybody else find the magick archer kind of unsatisfying to play? I've tried it out all 3 times I've played thru this game cause I hear it's powerful and a lot of people like it, but I've never found it to be very fun. The damage per arrow seems abysmal and none of its multi-arrow abilities seem as powerful as the equivalent abilities from the short or long bows. I know it's got the fun AoE ability, which feels good, but again the damage per hit seems really low and it's only good for picking apart throngs of low level enemies. I don't like that its abilities all have a charge and can't then be spammed/repeated the way ranger abilities can, and the payoff for sitting and charging up your shot doesn't seem as bombastic as a mage or warlock spell. Maybe I'm missing something about the job where it gets good late or with the right build
