what is you doing.

This game is so addicting. Dumped almost 30 hours in so far on Draconian mode. The difficulty is excellent. I don't think I'd like the game nearly as much on regular difficulty.

they tell me where to go and i go there.Jesus how are you going that fast? I wasn't even at Hotto 5 hours in.
that is what i'm doing. not ultra fast battles, playing on pc.I'm not even sure how you could do that unless you were skipping dialogue and only doing ultra fast battles (and skipping most non-boss fights too).
I do kind of meander I guess... I've got a little two year old and sometimes I pick it up and just fight monsters for 15 or 20 minutes cause I don't wanna get any big "story stuff" started and have to put it down. And I did probably spend like 5 hours on Sunday idly cranking away at the casino in Puerto Valor while watching football.
There are a lot of opportunities to "waste" time in the early game unnecessarily. Especially on the default difficulty setting.Jesus how are you going that fast? I wasn't even at Hotto 5 hours in.
To answer your question you're maybe 40% through Act 1.
Which settings did you turn on, all of them?
I ask because this is my first DQ game. I don't have any draconian settings turned on, and the game is relatively easy... but I am kind of enjoying how casually I can play through the game. I've been tempted to give myself more of a challenge, but wasn't sure which settings to use. Thanks
So I just got into doing some casino stuff...I'm not sure if I fully understand how the Slime Quest slots work? Like I can't tell if it is skill based for timing, or still rigged like real life slots are. But then when I get into the boss stages of it, it most definitely feels rigged because I can slam the stop buttons at any point and get like one of four predetermined slot layouts.
wondering if someone can give me an idea of how far I am into Act 2:
I now have the hammer and ore and I'm off to beat some monster near mt. huji so I can forge a new sword of light
Whatever you do, I'd strongly advise against Stronger Monsters AND 'Game Over if Hero dies'. It's super frustrating when some enemy get's a random lethal critical hit on the Luminary. Because that means a cold hard Game Over, reload last save. Churches as restart points are simply deactivated in that mode. Had to replay several lengthy segments because of it. It is tempting immersion-wise because it makes sense from a storytelling perspective, but it leads to many situations of unnecessary frustration.Which settings did you turn on, all of them?

Where's a good place to grind levels in the earlier part of Act 3? My party is all between level 55 and 57. I'm currently in the disciple's trial - the cruel crypt - upper level. The monsters there are a pain to kill, and they don't give enough exp. I'm getting like 2500 exp on average. Should I just push through or are there some king metals somewhere?
I dunno about where specifically to find metal slimes, but there is a very easy method to grind for levels basically anywhere in the world using pep powers:
Just finished Act 2, 64 hours in. The last boss was kind of a breeze, with all of my characters in the early 50s.
Seeing how I'm a bit pressed of time, with Luigi's Mansion coming out soon, I have some questions about how to most efficiently go through Act 3:
1. Where's the best place to grind? Should I do that right at the beginning of Act 3, should I advance the story a bit until after the *big thing* before grinding? Basically, how do I get to level ~80 or further the fastest?
2. If I were to advance the story up to the last step before the very last boss, would I still at that point be able to backtrack my way to anywhere and do anything I might have missed, or is there any point/points of no return regarding story content I should be aware of? I'm thinking of doing just that so the last boss is always an option if I tire of doing side stuff and can just decide to finish the game.
I'm mostly interested in doing story content and named quests, maybe the tockle stuff too. Any tips to make my experience easier are greatly appreciated :P
And despite my rush to finish, man, this game was/is really something special. My first DQ game (technically I played VIII for a few hours, but didn't stick with it) and what an introduction to the franchise. Might be my GOTY so far.
What is the recommended level for the Octagonia boss (the Spider), I'm playing with harder enemies, my party is lvl20, and I'm struggling with the damn thing lol
and I'm wondering if I will be able to finish my quests later or if there is a cut off here?
Perfect, thanks. I'm eager to move on with the story right now so that's great to hear.Taking this out of the spoiler tag since out of context it's fine.
There's no point where any quests or items are permanently missable in this game. The only exception is like...some mini-medals maybe which can be grinded for later regardless.
Lol I didnt know this was possible at low level, but it makes sense it can. That made the fight go smoothly, thanks for the advice!Your level should be okay, although there are metal slimes in that dungeon if you feel the need to level up.
If you haven't, you should respec Sylvando to learn Hustle Dance immediately. It's a huge life saver. You can also Dazzle the boss to hamstring its offense (this works on most bosses). It's susceptible to sleep as well, though not reliably, and guests have a nasty habit of immediately breaking it.
Also,Can the super seeds get duped using the time travel method or not?

Act 3 ending spoilers
I was mostly spoiled on a lot of aspects of the ending, but nobody spoiled that the tree was a dragon and that the dragon is maybe the Dragonlord, so that was neat to learn

I'm free from one of the longest games I've ever played and now I feel lost with my time

You would need to replay the whole act2 then, but yes they can
A lot of the Tickington missions re-use tilesets, so that might have been a considerationI wonder if it was a creative or technical decision. It seems easier to pick a single style for both the music and the visuals and scale it to HD.

Except for the one dragon mount that randomly puts you into an alternate costume for some reason. That was an annoying mount to use.Ahh sometimes I wish we got a flying mount instead of that horse... flying on top of the dragon feels good. Its sad only for certain places.
Wait what? Never noticed itExcept for the one dragon mount that randomly puts you into an alternate costume for some reason. That was an annoying mount to use.
It's on one of the islands. It put me into the Hoto costume every time I rode it.
