Is there any way to directly compare the equipment you're making in the forge to the equipment the character's using in detail? I know it gives the basic attack/defense stuff, but I'm talking about the stuff when you hit Y. It's annoying to have to back out and check in the equipment screen

Not sure I've ever had so much trouble deciding on a main party before. I like everyone so much besides the main character, but I also feel weird not using him because he's the main character lol. May actually change up my party throughout the game, which I pretty much never do.

it makes it easier that you can freely switch whos in battle at any time mid battle, so you could use everyone evenly, since everyone gets the same exp (as long as they're not dead) you dont have to worry about under leveling people.

Oh yeah. Talk to every npc after every major plot point too. It takes a while, but it's fun.

Also, with the past games I talk to everyone during the day time, leave town to change it to night time, then speak to everyone again. LOL. I don't do this in DQXI because, unlike previous games, time flows even in towns. I take my sweet time exploring every nook and cranny that sometimes the time changes before I manage to talk to everyone during the day/night time. This is one thing I wished they didn't change in XI.

I was not ready for this Lonalulu chapter. This one really got me crying T_T

The boss in this chapter in draconian mode was really hard, too. Had to rely on Brownie Boost pep power just to get the fight going, otherwise it could wipe me within the first 2 turns. Brownie Boost seems really good though. I think I'm going to start paying more attention to pep powers from now on.

Four of them are at the start of Act 2 before you take control of Eleven again. Sylvando's, Jade's, Erik's and Rab's.

Now you mention VA... still on the fence about JAP or ENG voices. Usually, I go for the english voices, but there are some japanese games where obviously their interpretations are more on point or just fit better for specific characters. What is the consensus on this game?

I heard the game originally didnt have Japanese voice acting for the OG jpn release on PS4 . English was added for the international release of the ps4 and PC version and then Japanese acting was added for the switch version

How do I show the DQ8 outfit? I have the hero's items in my inventory but they don't change the character's appearance. I can select the DLC outfit for Erik and I can select the DQ8 music, but the hero doesn't show any other cosmetic outfits.

I switched to no voices at all, because the voice acting was distracting my partner while they were reading. I expected to miss it but it actually works great without voices, especially to avoid the annoying barks during battle.

I just switched to it with no problems, are you maybe in the part of the story where the MC is wearing the cloak? They might not let you change appearance then.

People like the dub, bar Gemma, shes the only person I'd hear any complaints on and I think that's probably more due to hard/thick her cockney accent is. And Sylvando has the best english voice.

huge launch, very well deserved. they really went above and beyond what is expected from a late port, both in marketing and the amount of new content, so it's good to see them having this success.

personally I think the English VA fits a lot better because of how non-literal the translation is. it's weird when the text shows an italian accent and the person is speaking japanese. it fels super off playing this in JAP VA imo.

Still messing with the demo, but what's the general consensus on two handed vs one handed and shield? Doe it change things that much? Does it lock you out of any meaningful weapons or anything? Trying to avoid spoilers, and also trying to decide if I want to buy this or not. May have hooked me last night, buy I wasn't sure how interesting character progression will be.

You can fully respec very easily at any time after you get your 4th party member, so you can try out both.

I started out sword and shield then switched to one handed. It feels like staying sword and shield makes the hero too much of a jack of all trades..I dunno.

See this is what actually makes me torn between the JAP and ENG voice acting. I feel like it ENG VA fits better but the JAP sounds anime to me in the right type of way for me haha.

Its even "worse" if you play in another Language than English or Japanese, Neither will have same spoken names for Places/Peoples as the written ones for the most part.
