Sylvando thoErik is like the greatest human being that's ever been a human being
This is my first ever DQ game. Are the previous games this good?
Damn. I've missed out on one hell of a series then. What's the most modern way to play some previous games? I just have pc, x1, ps4, and switch.Yes. It's one of the most consistent series around. Pretty much every game since DQ3 still holds up wonderfully.
Greatswords is good for MC. Getting the group attack skill from that tree is solid for dealing with early game mobs and such.Any tips on where to put ability points for each of the four starting party members? I'm just beyond the demo area and haven't applied any.

You can play all the mainline games up to IX on a 3DS. I would say the system is worth it for these games alone.Damn. I've missed out on one hell of a series then. What's the most modern way to play some previous games? I just have pc, x1, ps4, and switch.
I do have a 3ds!You can play all the mainline games up to IX on a 3DS. I would say the system is worth it for these games alone.

[/QUOTE]AFAIK DQ 1-3 are not available in English on 3DS.
Well then you have access to DQ 4-9 so that changes things a bit.
I would recommend DQ4 on mobile still- the english DS version of DQ4 had the party chat feature cut.
I would also still recommend playing the PS2 version of DQ5 via emulation over the DS versions but the DS version is more than fine. DS version has some additional content and a slightly better localization, but is visually lackluster compared to the PS2 version and the PS2 version has an insanely gorgeous orchestral soundtrack.
DQ6 can be played on 3DS and it's a nice version of the game.
Play the 3DS version of DQ8.
That's disappointing. Especially since I'm playing Xenoblade 2 right with killer town music.I'm loving the game. It's such a shame that all towns so far have such distinct identities and yet share the same town theme though, wtf.
Also, how do I bring up the monster compendium again? I remember being able to bring it up in the demo but can't find the option now.
Which games should I play? I probably don't have time for all of them.
Is the game easy on normal difficulty. One issue I have with these game is that they become incredibly easy after half way through the game. Even if you avoid fighting here and there.
Galopolis is all I'll say..... ;)
DQ is really about this sometimes.I'm loving the game. It's such a shame that all towns so far have such distinct identities and yet share the same town theme though, wtf.

lol I remember my buddies feeling this way about DQ8 back in the day. They said and I quote "the music is too epic all the time ".I think this might be the first game where I actively hate the music. Like, I'm seriously considering just moving the volume down to 0. Something about it is just horribly irritating to me and I don't think I'll be able to play too much of this having to listen to it so much.

V and VIII.Which games should I play? I probably don't have time for all of them.
I had done this with the pc version before the mod was out. Only negative is you lose the little tunes that play when sleeping, leveling, etc. I'm of the opinion that even played by a skilled orchestra, the music made for this game is bottom tier. Lowering music volume to no more than 4, and using the DQVIII music which replaces the garbage overworks music with a much better song at least helps.I think this might be the first game where I actively hate the music. Since Nintendo is publishing it, it's probably going to be a long time before this gets a sale at all.Thinking about sinking my teeth into this one, but am undecided about when.
Do DQ games go on sale on Nintendo platforms? Or will it be a long time before this one ever dips below $40?
I thought there was a way to separate clothes and stats I. This version? For instance, isn't it supposed to be possible to have the stat boost of the DQ8 outfit, yet still visually wear the purple DQ11 one? Can't figure it out.
How do I get the DQ VIII outfit and music for the game? On the eshop I downloaded a free dlc pack, but. I didn't see any music mentioned in that. Also, how do I redeem it in game? I can find anything from that pack I downloaded in my inventory.
There's a costume slot in the equipment menuI thought there was a way to separate clothes and stats I. This version? For instance, isn't it supposed to be possible to have the stat boost of the DQ8 outfit, yet still visually wear the purple DQ11 one? Can't figure it out.
It's possible to wear a cosmetic outfit without equipping its items, but if you are equipping an outfit's items, I don't think it's possible to use the default outfit over it. e.g., if I have the Dancer's Costume equipped on Serena, I can't have her use her default outfit instead of the Dancer one.
If you're asking how to equip outfits at all, it's in the equipment menu.
Yeah, as much as I like the DQVIII outfit, it bothers me seeing the hero in XI wear it. Plus I think this hero have good outfit as well.

Do I miss anything by playing the demo first?
or should I buy the full game right away?
I would go with the demo, it gives you a skill seed and let's you transfer the savefile in full game.Do I miss anything by playing the demo first?

Are you able to select which party member you can walk around as in the overworld in this version, or is it always the main character? Not really a big deal either way, just curious.
