I think I'm gonna double dip and main on PC, it looks soooo good on PS4 but I've been enjoying Yakuza 0 on PC with native 4K60 so I'll go the same with DQ.

How viable is 1440p 60 FPS with this?
GTX 1070
i7 6700k 4.2 GHz
16 GB DDR4 RAM

Unlocked the frame rate and everything seems fine, makes me wonder why they have arbitrary caps in the first place.

Apparently playing it in Borderless just stretches a 1080p image instead of rendering in 4k to me? That's unfortunate. When I screengrab in borderless, the images are 1080p, and it looks much sharper in 4k fullscreen.

Just quoting myself in case anyone reads it: The in-game borderless seems to work properly if I set to fullscreen and my display resolution and then back to borderless after. Wew.

Will I be able to run at 1080p 60fps with max setting with the below rig:

1080 Ti
I7-8700
32 GB RAM

No frame drops etc?

I'm able to get 1080p/60fps with everything turned up on my 8600k/GTX1060. Though, it's just the starting area, not sure if that's reflective of the whole game!

It's weak, but it's nothing new.
I feel like ports are getting better about this. Take e.g. Mary Skelter: Nightmares, which I'm currently playing. At a guess, the PC release of that will probably generate around 1/100th of the revenue of DQ11 PC, and they still managed to put in keyboard button prompts.

I just don't like this asymmetry.

Another random note. The Ansel support seems to be wonky. I tried taking a 4x resolution "super photo" but the native res thumbnail looks sharper, and the shadows on the Ansel shot are not correct. I guess I will settle with 4k images (or use the ini tweek to double the internal rendering, maybe).

Runs great on my rig at 2560x1440/60 (4790K, 980 ti, 16GB, on an SSD) but I will confess that I'm actually running it stretched on the UW and don't hate it. Would love to see a wizard mod proper UW support in but I'm happy with the port as is, even if it's pretty basic.

This is so weird, I can't get RTSS to work with this game. Has anyone managed to make it work? The overlay doesn't work and I don't think the fps limiter is working either.

EDIT: Nevermind, it suddenly decided to start working without me even touching anything.

If I've never fnished a DQ before, how long will I last in this one? I'm expecting an answer down to the minute.

Did some testing, 16Gb DDR3, GTX 1080 & i5-4690k at stock:

4K:
Dips to 32, around 40-42 average.
2x DSR (1527p) dips to 45.

1440p and lower:
Smooth 60.

All at highest settings, I'm thinking maybe I get bottlenecked by CPU on higher resolutions?

yea I don't think it was working for me at the start either. I alt-tab'd and changed the detection level to medium and that got it working

was hoping my i7 6800/1080ti would rip roar its way to 4K60 but there were weird dips all over the place. still perfectly serviceable, especially for a turn based RPG but i went with 1440p.

only have a few hours in but really glad i went PC with this

Yea they are, don't expect that to stop a mod from happening

If memory serves correctly, to unpack an encrypted UE4 .pak, we'll need a decryption key. Then you can just use something like quickbms to unpack it.

I've tried using SpecialK's Mod tools to extract the UI textures to see if I can make a PlayStation button prompt mod but it doesn't seem to load the UI textures. The 3D models and the environment textures seems to load correctly, though.

Yea, seems like a 1080ti isn't quite enough for 4k60 without some help (shadows 2, 90% rendering)

The overlay works as soon as you try to alt-tab (it seems to appear just by pressing alt for me, actually). The limiter works fine regardless.

Yea turns out my limiter was set to the same fps the game was running at anyway so I didn't notice. As for the overlay it works exactly the same way you described for me. A bit weird but eh at least it works!

Well as of now it's not even booting up. It'll show the quick preparing to launch... message and then nothing. Tried restarting too. Must be a bug though, any game should at least boot on this even if it ends up being unplayable.

Edit: verifying the game files right now. I forgot that steam errored out a couple times while it was updating/installing so that may be it. I also have it installed to the micro SD card. If the verifying doesn't work I'll try installing straight to the HD, although I don't see why this would matter lol.

Edit 2: Got it working. Phawx has a great video up now with all the tweaks for low end systems. Plays pretty darn good so far.

Tried it for 2 minutes this morning. Everything maxed with AA off at 1440p was too much for my 6600/1070 to hold 60. Even in the first area it dropped to 57/58 with camera panning. Dropping resolution scaling to 90% got it to locked 60 but we will have to see how it holds up later.

Runs good on my 390 and I5 6500 so far, I'm only an hour in so things could change but with all settings maxed I'm getting a fairly solid 1080p/60fps with only a couple drops here and there. Hopefully performance will be similar in the larger towns.

It's a barebones port in terms of customization, but it looks and runs great on my system. I hope someone fixes the ultra-wide aspect ratio. It's time to move away from 16:9.

i7-8700k @ 3.7Ghz

Getting 60-70 fps average with everything set to max, 1920x1080. Can play at roughly 1.5x resolution @ 30 fps. Haven't tweaked anything else, really.

Also, this game has Ansel support, which is super rad, but I noticed something sort of odd with the skybox when rolling the camera...

Not sure if that tree is supposed to be that way. :P

I'm pretty pleased with this port all in all, and I'm hoping a 2080 will be enough to get it over the 4k/60 fps hump.

I'm running it on a 980 @ 1440p with everything maxed except for shadows. I'm getting some slowdown from 60fps down to ~45fps but the relatively slow nature of the game means that I'd not really noticing the slowdown a great deal.

Looks to be a very solid port from a technical perspective, though some more options would have been nice.

Debating getting this. Is it open world and are the battles seamlessly transitioned into? Last DQ game I played was Dragon Warrior on the NES so I'm interested in playing it again.

Yea Battles are literally instantly loaded.

Does someone know where to reset Skillpoints btw ?

I'm tempted to move this game to my HDD so I have time to read some of the loading tips. Load times are practically instant.

Everything was a smooth 60fps at Max on my 1070 @1080p up until the city.

Even turning shadows to low, I can't get a steady 60 in the city.
