This weekend, Americans face another surge in the COVID-19 pandemic. Infections have passed the 8 million mark and are rising rapidly. There are more than 218,000 dead. During the course of the pandemic, Dr. Anthony Fauci has been the physician most Americans have relied upon for their information. But now, instead of worrying soley about developing vaccines or therapeutics, Dr. Fauci finds himself unhappily caught up in presidential politics, under protection from death threats, and forced to defend science itself.

It's kind of sad that if Trump had just swallowed his ego and listened to Fauci's actual advice we could have saved 10's of thousands of people.

I know it feels like a decade ago, but we saw this with that one pipe bomber..that was about a year in to this shit, right?

This sucks but it absolutely does not surprise me.

What does surprise me is that Fauci is seventy-fucking-nine years old. He seems much younger, somehow, even knowing he has been prominent for decades.

Every one sending death threats needs to be put on blast. Only in America would a man trying to save lives during a global pandemic have to be escorted by security detail. But people trying to kill us like Mitch, Graham, and their GOP enablers can walk around without a care in the world when they should be tarred, feathered, and afraid to leave their homes.

Yeah. President Camacho wasn't smart as is the same for everyone in that future, but he was smart enough to recognize that dude was smarter than him and had the best shot at solving the crisis.
