Ha, alright, that made coffee come out of my nose.
I hate cancel and rage culture as much as everyone else, I get it, but I understand people not flying around this apology, which to be fair it screams levels of Hulk Hogan's "I'm sorry I got caught" and using the brand/character as an excuse for his actions. There was nothing wrong on just admitting you fucked up (once again, mind you) and aim to be better as a person. His apology comes out as if he did nothing wrong, he wants to be a "better brand", his punishment was a slap on the wrist by Twitch, and then he puts the blames on the character, and also starts using said character to go after the media. He apologized, good on him. Even if the apology seems fake or not good enough to some, it's still an apology. It seems like no matter what he says in order to apologize or make it right, it will never be enough to some of you. That's fine, but there is no need to be toxic to others that are fine with it or to be questioning someone for liking him or forgiving him.
Remember, there's nothing wrong with Dr. Disrespect, it's "a character" after all, and as Twitter has taught me when you are in character you have free will and zero repercussions because it is not yourself out there, is just "an artistic representation/performance" ^^Is he like the fucking Hulk or something? Or Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde? Where he can't control his other self? That's what it seems like he's trying to imply.
Ah good old streamer shamingImagine making fun of the work that Kotaku writers do when you're nearly 40 and your full time job is to binge video games for 12 hours a day while role playing as Ben Stiller's character from Dodgeball. Don't care how many thousands he makes every second, you can't convince me that performing for teenage boys all day every day is a fulfilling or enviable life.
Would you still have said the same when he was still a developer for activision / community rep for Call of Duty?Imagine making fun of the work that Kotaku writers do when you're nearly 40 and your full time job is to binge video games for 12 hours a day while role playing as Ben Stiller's character from Dodgeball. Let's just call entertainers or artists having a not fulfilling and not enviable life. Some opinions in this thread are ... very special.
That's not at all what that poster said. But I would agree to such a statement, even tho Jason doesn't come off much better with his reply in this case.I think the overall point, 40 year old man attempts to weaponize his rabid fanbase against news organisations reporting on his misdemeanors, stands up.

Doc isn't helping this story go away with his replies. He should have left it at the apology and moved on. If nobody knows about Kotaku like Doc claims, nobody would have seen the article... Dude needs some PR help
"Doc is edgy, highly opinionated, cocky, etc. and that certainly adds to the difficulty in staying authentic without offending anyone on a deeper, personal level."
So err, what's this about? Dr Disrespect coming across like a dick here (shocker).
I can't tell if this is sarcasm. You can't seriously believe that right?People know he's an act right?
That's why those tweets are the way they are.

This is what you're saying and all I can ask is why are you like this?People know he's an act right? Yes, I am literally saying that it's ok to incite harassment as long as you do it in character. CHILDREN ESPECIALLY, will know the difference, especially those that identify as gamers.

Adults know it's an act. Unfortunately, kids will think it's cool.
Are you 5?People know he's an act right?
That's why those tweets are the way they are.
Oh my goodness.
Because pretending to be Dr. Disrespect doesn't absolve him from anything he says or does. You can't go do or say whatever you want in life and get away with it by claiming it's an act.
No I'm pretty sure you're 5. JK lol just an act.No I'm not, but you obviously are having to resort to silly childish comments like that.
YeeeeshNo I'm not, but you obviously are having to resort to silly childish comments like that.

Regardless of whether it's a joke or not: it's harassment, and further condones and enables harassment by those who follow him.
Not referring to just the tweet. I'm referring to him thinking it's ok to do a live stream in a restroom with other people in it.
What if the person who called you 5 is just an act and their Era persona is all about belittling people? Is that ok?
