Is this with the ray tracing they said they would patch in or should we just give up hope for that?

If they can't get rtx features they should at least show off dlss with the game running in over 200fps

Yeah along with Flight Sim this is going to be one of my reference points for the new cards. Holy shit.

That said, if I'm staying a 1440p for the next few years, I should be good with the 3070 right?

Honestly wish they had RT to show off. The game was already very optimized and ran well across the board and one of the most impressive thing is that the game has insane load times on SSD. Complete opposite to Doom 2016 having awful load times between levels.

We already know that Doom Eternal is one of the game with an exceptionally good performance improvement.
Still, that's a sweet, sweet jump.

I'm so excited for the 3090.

Nice of them to cut away from that first cutscene just before the World's Worst Timed Tutorial Window Ever

Incredibly impressive. I can barely get 60fps at 4K on my RTX 2060 Super without the dynamic resolution kicking in during battles

As a Mac guy (PC Noob) how much would a 3080 PC gaming rig cost, $2000?

3700x ~ 270€
b550 mainboard ~150€
1TB gen 3 NVME ~100€
3080 ~ 730€
750W PSU ~ 150€
16GB DDR4 3600 ~ 80€
Nice case (p400a, Lian Li Meshcool II) ~ 80€

~ 1600€ (that's with taxes in the EU)

More or less, don't nail me on prices please.

Nice and all, but would prefer they showed demos with increases in graphical features. I am happy with 60fps. Want to see games that demonstrate crazy geometric detail and more dynamic lighting. Release an actual demo of Cyberpunk with the RT stuff, rather than just a teaser trailer.

Decent uplift, but Doom is easy to run. Show me Doom with RT features with performance metrics and maybe I'll be impressed.

I don't understand these responses at all, a nearly 50% performance increase at 4K for a $700 card compared to a $1200 card, and you're not impressed? OK...

Guys, guys, don't be confused, this is not for the RTX patch, it's for the 4K patch

This is pretty impressive for an 80 series card from the new lineup to put such a hurting on the previous generation 80ti.

Highest spike in performance I've seen so far in the vid from just quickly bouncing around is a 70% increase with the lowest so far looking like 30%. I only did a percentage check in a few areas. There could be higher or lower ones throughout the video.

My comment was slightly sarcastic* and really wishing they would have shown off the RT features, especially in both Doom and Cyberpunk in longer demos than the trailer we got.

*"Yeah sure you may juggle 15 items, but can you juggle 20!" I cannot seem to find if there is a term for it.

Fair enough, there's been some crazy stuff in the 3000 series thread so I'm having trouble recognizing sarcasm anymore lol.

Didn't this already perform exceptional well on all hardware... I like to see something like control with and without DLSS. That was one of the more difficult games to run on a 2080 Ti.

Oh so its just smoother and higher resolution.
Heh, I was beginning to think my old eyes were failing me, because I couldn't see the difference between the two, but I'm watching it on a 1440p work monitor so its not surprising.

I'd like to see control. That game is just a showcase of RTX features (and more).

Its cool to see the bench mark numbers go up, but a youtube video is a really bad way to show it off.
