I guess it's finally time to say goodbye to Dualshock 4 support along with it's back-button attachment for this game 😤

My PS5 SSD is weeping. Already have a half dozen games in cold storage. But I'll have to find room for this...

Nice! Wasn't expecting ray tracing. Might give this game a second try.

PS5's GPU isn't as beefy as the Series X's. That's it.

Well if you said this about RT mode then it should have been more believeable yet that mode is the same on both. But the performance mode is purely rasterization, and in case you don't know, the PS5 GPU beats XSX one in that domain and plenty of examples prove that.

Update for ps5! man thats so dope - I'm gonna finish DOOM 2016 and buy this next time it's on sale. (As they're owned by MS I wasn't expecting it)

DOOM Eternal for next-gen machines, offering improved visuals, increased performance and support for ray-tracing, or 4K resolution at 60 frames per second, or an optional 120 FPS mode.

Ok so no up to!

If that's true for all listed modes that will be nice damm. I knew Doom eternal was optimised so it doesn't surprise me a lot, but it's nice to know!

120 fps is just the cherry on top.

Been sitting on my shelf sealed since black Friday. Looks like I need to wrap up Judgement by the end of the month.

Doom 2016/Eternal looked insane in 144fps for some reason, maybe it was the motion blur? i would 100% recommend 120fps for console users & not better reflections.

Can you show a game with 120fps mode that performs better on the PS5 both framerate and resolution-wise? I was merely stating the known fact the PS5's GPU isn't as beefy, even if the gap between the two isn't that big. We've been expecting small resolution differences since before these consoles launched.

The first example of the first game is COD BO3 ofc. PS5 120 FPS even has more effects like added smoke when firing and more birds etc.
Look this talk is already discussed before by tech specialists, devs and hardware makers and it's not just fanboyish talk. But let's end it here and not derail the thread please.

Off top of my head DMCV runs at a higher avg framerate in 120fps mode.

Yeah, but don't you need a TV capable of doing 120hz to show that? I don't exactly know if that's a common feature these days, but my TV is maybe 3 years old, and I think it only displays at 60.

I'm going to need a link to back this up. Who exactly is saying the PS5 is better with rasterization?

Oh, that's cool. I don't have an RTX card or anything, but I remember it being a big question about raytracing when this game launched, since the RTX cards I think, first came out around the same time? Cool for consoles too, of course.

Wasn't that because DMCV has a higher minimum resolution for the performance mode on SX so it can't go lower when framerates start to suffer? I seem to remember something along those lines in the DF analysis.

No

"While the Xbox Series X takes a slight lead in 4K and ray tracing performance modes on Devil May Cry 5, the high frame rate mode runs noticeably better on PS5 with frame rate gaps between the two systems at more than 40fps in some scenes."

We're seven months into the current console generation.

"Next-gen" now refers to the PlayStation 6 and whatever the naming scheme for the next Xbox is going to be.

who cares about fidelity mode, 1800p ray tracing mode is where you want to live

The resolution disparity in the 120fps mode is weird considering the other modes are equal.
