He's not that rich, and there is a new administration planning some new financial regulations they need to keep under the radar from. With all the investigations they will be pouring over his books they have with him, and depending on how bad it looks they might audit and ask for all their books. They don't want that smoke, Russian Oligarchs and Chinese CCP members are much more discrete.

If he had taken Covid seriously, encouraged lockdowns, pushed for stimulus sooner and even just asked his followers to wear a mask, there was a non-zero chance he could have won a second term. Now his brand will be ruined, he'll likely be broke, he'll be lucky to stay out of jail, and he fractured the Republican party - all because he's a narcissist, unable to stop thinking about himself long enough to think even a little bit ahead.

I'm only half joking when I say that I worry about him going full scorched earth. Not anything insane like trying to launch a nuke, but he could always order a hit on someone that could start an international conflict. He still can do executive orders, and federal pardons. He still has the intelligence and power access of the presidency.

Yeah, he could have probably rode his post-presidency momentum into actually launching Trump TV, an entire channel dedicated to his ego, his lies, and misinformation, and he probably would have got some advertisers/investors on board. Now? Guess those same advertisers will just stick with Fox News.
