I find it surprising, and curious, because I so seldom have viewed it.

I mean, I kinda thought (THE BOYS SPOILER) was kinda hot. Does that make me gay? I identify as straight. I think disgusting is a hyperbolic word in this instance. If someone is really disgusted by it I think they'd be disgusted by straight porn as well. Disgusted is pretty strong.

Edit: To answer the question since I'm at the top of this page, yes, if you genuinely call it disgusting but watch straight porn and don't think its disgusting you are homophobic.

Let's just say, personally, I'm in no position to call any sort of sexual activity I'm not into "disgusting"...

Using the word disgusting specifically towards gay porn makes you a homophobic imo. If you say specifically that oral sex, anal sex or even all kinds of sex are disgusting then imo it's a valid opinion.

Sex is disgusting if you aren't attracted to the other person. Porn less so since you're removed from the act, but if your threshold for being disgusted is lower I can see how you could find it disgusting.

It depends. Inherently? No, although the use of the word "disgust" is rather telling.

When it verges into said disgust, rather than simply not being attracted to it, that can and does directly contribute to problems such as one being discussed right now in Gaming, where lesbian relationships are more pervasive in the medium because -- with most games being written by straight men -- lesbian sexuality is fetishized due to the titillation they provide the straight male demographic.

Whereas the portrayal of gay male relationships is actively avoided -- near non-existent and/or entirely optional, with no set gay male protagonists -- because not only do they not titillate straight men, but publishers fear it'll "disgust" them and drive away sales. Which, let's be honest, it probably would because that's the level of immaturity many straight men operate on, due to rampant societal homophobia interlaced with toxic masculinity.

This extends even further to developers largely avoiding male romantic partners in general, even when it's from the perspective of a woman, because having a man be the object of your romance might threaten players' fragile masculinity.

If you are using the term disgusting thats a problem. Otherwise its okay not to want to see it.
Yeah that's where I'm at. "Disgusting" is a bit harsh when it's no different from seeing a heterosexual couple being intimate or trying non vaginal intercourse just with different participants. You're fine not being turned on by it though.

Oh please people, half of you would be happy to call some food you don't like disgusting.

Hell I'm sure some of you would find some pretty mainstream porn "disgusting". Maybe old guy young girl porn? Young guy older lady porn? Two old people porn?

I don't see an issue with finding gay porn disgusting, any more than finding pineapple on pizza "disgusting". And no, I don't think it makes you homophobic any more than finding pinneable on pizza digusting makes you... I don't know anti-people with good taste :)

When you are SAYING this, and not just thinking it, context is what matters.

In the context of talking about this with a gay friend on chat, sounds pretty homophobic to me though. I mean you know your friend is gay. You know disgusting is a loaded term and might hurt his feelings, and yet you proceed? At the veyr least you're just an insensitive asshat, and at worse yeah you might be homophobic.

I of course don't speak for all gay people but for what it's worth I wouldn't find it homophobic if you said that around me. I have plenty of gay friends who use the same or worse terminology when it comes to viewing straight porn, and straight people aren't offended when they hear that.

If you're wired a certain way, you're simply wired a certain way. I do look forward to reading straight people itt telling you that you should feel bad because .. um, not sure but I know it's going to happen

Yeah, not liking it and not wanting to see any of it seem perfectly normal to me. But being "disgusted" ? Seems harsh.

Like, i don't like it either but i'm not "ew, yuck" when i stumble on it by accident. It's just dudes fucking each other, it's fucking normal.

I think those who find it "disgusting" should address that issue about themselves.

I would say it's conditioned homophobia. I don't find men stimulating but I don't care if I see them fucking

I think it's gross, but I think squash is gross. Squash is gross > don't eat squash. I'd never crusade against the squash-eaters.

Yeah I wouldn't use the word disgusting for the whole of gay porn, I would just say it's not my thing.

It's not my bag, but I imagine some LGBTQ folks don't love straight porn either. So long as it's consenting adults and no one is hurt, you do you.

I guess it depends on why you find it disgusting. I find some straight porn to be disgusting and I'm straight.

Tough to say, and it really depends on the person, what they object to, and what reaction it's producing.

I think most porn, particularly professional porn, is pretty gross and offputting. And I'm not attracted to 90% of men, so there's no "at least there's someone attractive in it" factor, like you'd get from a heterosexual pairing. But I don't have the same reaction to male/male romance or sex scenes in non-porn settings.

I'd say it's homophobic but only because you have to make a joke that it's "gross" and that might come at someone's expense, like your friend. Impact versus intent. It's obviously much different than being outright hostile and wanting to deny rights/safety to gay folks but it can still be viewed as an act of aggression. (I'm straight so these just are my views on it.)

What turns y'all off regarding a dude sticking his dick in another dude's bum. It's two humans humping each other, just like anyone else.

Uranus, get it?!? YOUR. ANUS.
I'm straight and find a LOT of straight porn disgusting. Though, I don't think I'd feel comfortable calling gay porn disgusting -- ya know, cause as a straight guy, it can have different connotations.

How does someone accidentally find their way into gay porn? Every porn site I've ever seen has either hetero or lesbian stuff on the front page. If anything is discriminatory its that they hide the gay porn in its own little space on the site much the same way they do with the extreme fetish stuff.

In short I don't believe you friend accidentally found his way to gay porn. He either went looking for it or made it up.

To answer the question is it actually disgust that your friend feels when seeing gay porn? To me it just doesnt feel like its for me and I would click on something else. I think for a lot of straight men the thought of somehow getting caught watching gay porn is more of a problem for them then the actual porn itself.

I mean... it depends? Some straight porn is disgusting, often on purpose. I imagine there's gay porn like that.

But calling gay porn in general disgusting is a little too strong like others have said.

Echoing what others have said, if your reaction is indifference, then no. If your reaction is disgust, then yes.

Every time someone puts on gay porn, as a woke straight man I feel it's my responsibility to watch it and say "This is totally cool. I'm very okay with this. Do I feel the need to look away? No, not at all. I'm no monster. I could watch this all day. Might not turn me on but so what. Yep, very okay with this and will totally keep watching."

Some straight people would call anal or pegging disgusting so I don't think the use of the word is a sure fire indicator of homophobia but that doesn't mean it couldn't be part of it

Why is it disgusting OP? Is it just that you find erect dicks gross, or anal sex gross (which is neither an exclusive homosexual activity nor do all homosexuals do anal sex), or what? It just two humans enjoying themselves, and sex is pretty clean and safe if both partners prepare for the sexual encounter.

Not enjoying it doesn't make you homophobic.

Finding it "disgusting" - I'd say this does, because you're basically thinking gay sex is disgusting. There are a lot of things I don't enjoy or don't want to try but don't find them disgusting - and if you see gay sex this way, I'd question myself why this is the case. I can only see one answer, and that is homophobia.

Oh and saying it out loud to make sure everyone knows you find it disgusting - that's definitely homophobic.

I feel like describing gay porn 'disgusting' is kinda sus and does come from a, maybe unintentional, homophobic POV.

People have their own preferences and attractions, like I'm ace and find all porn a turn-off but like 'disgust'?. Nah.

I don't think so I guess, there is plenty of porn regardless of sexual preference that I would classify as "disgusting"
but then again, it's complicated

If one has such a visceral 'revulsion' to gay sex then they may need to do some introspection and explore why that is. If you don't like it that's fine, but try not to turn it into a judgment against the people performing these acts

You're just not into it. Different strokes for different folks. Now finding it immoral would make you homophobic.
