Do you use DuckDuckGo?

I just went and ahead and added it to Chrome based on this thread. Seemed to work fine then just kept timing out on basic searches for like "dogs" or "boats". Turns out it doesn't like my VPN being enabled. Anyone else have an issue like this? I'd like to keep my VPN enabled all the time but if I have to disable it just to run a search that's sort of weird.
It's my default. I've cut myself off from everything google except YouTube and my school gmail account. Planning on erasing everything and locking the account down with an even stronger password along with the 2FA I already use. It'll sit dormant unless I ever go back to google for anything
Yeah, it's been my default for a long time. Occasionally I use google if DDG doesn't turn up what I'm expecting to find on the first page or two, but when I used Google for a while after a fresh install, I was was getting frustrated by the results, so DDG remains my default. It's a bit easier on my eyes, too.
Pretty much. Google may be better, but for most times DDG is good enough. And for the times it isn't, there's !g.
It's my default search engine, my whole family made the switch a few months ago. I find it works well enough but definitely is not as strong as Google. I use DDG 90% of the time and resort to using Google the other 10% of the time that I have a super specific search that doesn't get the right results in DDG. I'm curious how that's affecting my Google profile, they probably think I've developed some really bizarre interests.

I used it for a while, but got tired of not getting some of the results I was looking for in regards to news items. Now I use google and swap over to DuckDuckGo or Bing if I can't find what I want.
I used their browser on my phone for a while, then I got fed up with it because it was too slow for my liking and switched back to Chrome. Now I'm getting fed up with Chrome because embedded tweets don't want to show up on it.
I did this a few months ago and am giving up. Googles stuff is just waaay too good.

I respect what they are trying to do, but their results are not even remotely as good as Googles. Also, I'm so deeply entrenched in the Google ecosystem that it's a lost cause anyways. Privacy is a thing of the past at this point.
I use it and sometimes still use !g to get the encrypted Google result. Often when I do that hoping to get more relevant results I just get a very similar page to DDG so I guess that's a pretty good sign.

I have used Duckduckgo for a while, but I have now switched to Qwant because yay France and GDPR !
Both are equally good imo, and sufficient for 99% of the searches.
DuckDuckGo being a US company, Patriot act / Cloud Act applies so privacy is still very relative though.

It was my default for a long time, but I was never really satisfied with the results so I switched back to google. I use an android device so my privacy is nonexistent anyway.
France aside, wouldn't DDG have to comply with GDPR fully regardless of their location if their site is available in the EU?
I'd been using it as my default for a couple of months now and so far I'm happy. Haven't noticed any major differences in search results.
Most of the time DDG is good enough for my needs, but every now and then I have to return to the good ol' Goog.

Does porn usually just arrive to you without searching for it?
They got tube sites now. Just search within those. I've never actually used a search engine to find new stuff. Seems foreign to me.
I just started using it this week. Works well enough so far but I assume I'll have to switch back here and there.
