A couple (and one cover up) and just got another!

I have:

-a wing on my back (very 18-year-old-first tattoo) that I barely remember I have half the time lol
-a tiny Mickey line-silhouette on my ankle
-I had a KH heartless symbol on my wrist (haha, also the product of a 19/20 year old)
-covered up the KH tattoo with a floral tattoo, which unfortunately had a decent amount of black (hard to cover a heartless symbol haha) soo…
-put a white ink rose on the black
-just this last month, been expanding the florals on my arm to make the wrist floral have a bit more purpose, and I want it to be a quarter sleeve eventually. So I have a pretty large floral piece on my lower arm now. Did it in two sessions.

I like tattoos. :)

Nope. I'm pretty sure I'll never get any either. I don't quite understand them.

If they make other people happy then I'm glad for them then. But they do nothing for me.

I have plenty and am always booking more for the future.

Big chrysanthemum on my right pectoral (done at Sang Bleu in London by Mimi).

A dot shaded crystalline heart on my right forearm (done by Apro Lee visiting Sang Bleu Londong from Korea).

Have a cool 16th century woodcut drawing from Ars Moriendi on my right arm (by MxM of Sang Bleu).

A rose on my right hand by Brianna Chatwin here in Victoria (now going to work at Sang Bleu LA!).

An olive branch that goes from under my right ear to the edge of my right shoulder (Brianna).

Two sisyphus pieces, one on the inside of my right arm, one on my right shoulder blade (Brianna).

Huuuuge stork along the left side of my torso, going from my left pectoral height down to my mid left thigh height (Brianna).

Snake on the exterior side of my right calf / lower leg (Brianna).

Huge shoulder / sleeve / forearm piece by Thieves of Tower / Castlebasas done when he was still at 2 spirit tattoo in Calabasas.

Nope. I doubt I ever get one. I just dont have the real estate for it. My arms are too skinny and my torso is a bit too flabby. I don't see the point in back tats and I really don't like the look of leg tats.

Yes. Despite the fact I hate tattoos.
I've got a map on my left thigh and going for another in a couple of weeks, which will be on my arm

on one hand i think tattoos can be cool as hell.. but i also seen my share of ugly stuff.

in the end every time i have considered getting one myself i always come back to the same conclusion.. have I ever or do I ever want to hang the same piece of art in my room or house and then have to look at it every day without the option to remove it?
The answer will always be no, even the mona lisa doesn't qualify..

I love tattoos but I don't have any myself because I couldn't come up with anything to put semi-permanently on my body.

I have a big Octopus on my calf and a kind of skull design on my left thigh, being a bit indecisive about my arms, but they're up next.

Got a Chinese style dragon on my right upper arm 20 years ago when I was 17 drunk in Barcelona.

All good decisions!

The thing that surprised me the most about my tattoo is that I just don't notice it 99% of the time.

Left forearm sleeve. It's a skin tear tattoo with tree branches tearing out. It goes into the back of my hand.

I dont have a problem with tatoos per se. I would never get one myself though. For me there are so many other ways to express myself and I kinda like my natural skin with all the blemishes and scars live throws at me.

I also feel it has become so fashionable and so mainstream that it is almost becoming a caricature of what a tattoo used to represent. I feel sad for all the people that were following a trend that is now quickly falling out of fashion.

To get a Tattoo because of fashion is also the wrong motivation to get one.

But I'm with you. As someone with Neurodermatitis I have enough scars on "every" visible square centimeter of my skin to have enough for the rest of my life.

My arms are covered and I have a large one on the side of my torso.

I've got plans for lots more, but just need the time and money (and a bit less Covid).

I am happy that it's "fashionable" to be honest, it means I don't have to cover up when going for job interviews any more, no one cares if I am covered in tattoos so works out great. It also means there are more shops, more artists, more young up coming tattooers pushing things forward and creating their own styles, it's exciting.

Those are good points I have never thought of!

I've wanted to get tattoos for forever, I just don't know what to get.. so I don't. How do y'all decide?

If I just winged it, I'd end up getting Supernatural's "anti possession tattoo" or some bullshit game symbol. lol

Yes, half sleeve. Skull of Cthulhu-like creature with Creature from the Black Lagoon swimming out through its tentacles.

It's much more important to find the right artist than it is figuring out what you want. Once you find one whose style you really like and you trust to create something beautiful, it's a really simple process of communication.

I have a Mega Man half sleeve.

I also have an Aliens half sleeve, working on the full sleeve. My artist uploaded it online.

This thread is begging to have a poll, OP. Simple yea or no: do you have at least one tattoo?
My answer, btw, is no. And don't Olán on ever getting one. Not my style. Even in porn it's. A major turn off for me if the performers have too many tattoos.

An ancient Egyptian cartouche of my name on my arm. It was to commemorate my, at the time, yet unborn son. He never came to be as he was loss to a miscarriage.

No, I don't like the way they fade. I have relatives with tattoos and the tattoos don't look great after a while.
