Not related to your financial status, is there a price you cannot justify buying the first batch of launch units?
For me that would be $499, anything over I am not willing to be technically a tester for the system even if I can afford it.

At launch, $400 would be my limit, and that's only if there's a game on the new system that I really want to play at launch. Otherwise, $300 is the right spot for me.

449€ would be my absolute max.

(Generally don't buy right at launch, though. Switch being the exception.)

Depending on price, I will just get one of the consoles and not both at launch. The other one will have to wait until the next holiday period or price drop.

Depends on what I'm getting for the cost. I paid $599 for a playstation 3. It had a blu ray player built in, which at the time were north of $1000. I won't pay $599 for an xbox series x or playstation 5.

$399 and I'll buy the new Xbox at launch. $499 isn't a bad price, but I'll wait.

$599 is not worth it at all for me.

I could do up to $499 given the overall package. Any more and I feel like the inevitable mid-gen refresh at a similar price would sting a bit.

My price barrier is probably around $800 (AKA what a new phone would cost me if I decided tomorrow to go and get one), but I'm probably going to skip out till Spring of next year unless there is some really big thing I care about that is there on day 1 that I can't play on my PC/PS4. I don't want to deal with the circus of preordering, I want to either walk into a store or press order on AMazon and pick it up from an Amazon Locker the next day

I could go higher. But knowing the first years are usually weak and a price cut is inevitable, I rather wait.

Could be £200 or £900, doesn't matter a fuck if there's zero interesting games to play.

400 dollars is the most I will spend at launch. A 100 dollars more and your ass doesn't even have the exclusives to justify the 400, let alone the extra money I brought to buy a game that's probably cross generation or merely a graphical showcase.

Will be getting a PS5 day one regardless of price.

I'll never buy a launch console. Higher price for lower build quality and few games just doesn't sound appealing.

I'm a consumer whore. I'll at least buy a PS5 at launch no matter the price. Microsoft still has a bit of work to do to sell me on a Series X versus just upgrading my PC, though.

I dont care about the price that I pay, but I do hope its $399 so the system can sell well early on, and we can move on from crossgen games as soon as possible.

Honestly should just go ahead and upgrade your PC at that rate if the PS5 will be a Sony+3rd party machine at launch. Leave the PC to MS exclusives via GamePass as it stands to be a great deal.

Way above $600 but not infinity. If there was ever a $2000 console like inflation adjusted price of the neo geo, I would have to think about it. But I already know Im spending a few thousand this holiday season between both consoles and games.

Don't really have a limit honestly. If it was something ridiculous then yeah but I mean...I plopped down 750 for my Galaxy S10. I'm willing to put up a good chunk for a new video game console, especially if there's a decent amount of interesting games.

Ive made a $1000 budget for Nov 2020, but Im sure Ill get away with saving a ton of that from selling my X and Pro, and the XSX and 5 coming in around $400-$500. Id feel like a clown for cashing out on a $599 machine, but Im sure I would do it for the XSX at least since its released specs are insane for a launch console. I still think it'll come in at $499, but I guess We will see.

As long as there is equivalent performance value for the money spent, I'll pay what they ask.

Right now it looks like its just another box with decent hardware. I'm not paying more than 499 for that.

If it looks good enough I'll pay whatever is needed for a playstation console. For xbox, they would need to basically completely backtrack on their exclusive policy for me to be interested in buying their hardware since I can just upgrade my PC instead.

There's a 0% chance I spend more than $499+tax on a new game console. Just too much money.

I don't care about inflation adjusted old prices of consoles. I do care about that in 2020, $499 for a console is the maximum I'm willing to pay.

I've changed my mind. I'm so hyped I'm prepared to pay a higher price. I'll pay anything up to £799, which I think would be a fair price for the amount of tech we're getting. Hopefully it's lower, but I'm prepared to pay that much on day 1.

No limit but I will only buy one if there is something I want to play. Easy as that.

If it costs more than $399 I'm good to wait. Especially at launch because launch games are rarely any good.

Honestly planning on trying to pick up a One X this fall if I can grab one used for around $200 to get me through a couple years till the Series X hits a $350-400 pricepoint and gets some appealing bundles.
