I'm getting ready for my 8am pre-order dash tomorrow but do Xbox need to share anymore details with us for those of us putting down our money for launch release.

Have we had a full confirmed launch line-up yet or Series X BC details etc?

I'm buying the thing for Game Pass and BC to catch up on all I missed (Guardian Heroes!) so I think I should probably wait until I learn the deal with its BC before I put my money down.

We already know that the Series X BC is everything the Xbox One can do and the One X level of up-ressing/enhanced textures
No hard launch lineup laid out but a number of sites have a "What is out day 1"

I really feel like they have to show us something. The launch line-up, at least, even if it's just Gears Tactics and a Gears 5 GotY edition. (Did Gears 5 win GotY, from...anyone?)

Do Xbox need to release it today in the same way Sony did after their show last week. It wasn't the clearest way but it's out there.

I'm sure many know if they are getting one or not tomorrow but would love to see some of the blind gaps filled in directly from them a little.

Im just gonna be there for Gamepass and Destiny 60fps, but I'm a bit let down cause no show of Series X gameplay and some other stuff.
Sony did well on the last show with gameplay and that demons souls next gen showcase.

I don't think they plan on showing anything before pre-orders go up. I do hope they do have an event before the end of the year that generates hype for people to buy the series X. However, I think they are content with what they have to offer right now. Gamepass is a great option for those interested, series x is a good alternative for those who don't want to invest in gaming pc at the price point. I plan on getting a series x once they show more from their first party studios, I want to buy an series X but they haven't shown anything truly compelling for me personally yet. I am sure they have stuff brewing though.

The Series S is honestly affordable enough to be an impulse buy, but that launch line-up is ridiculously weak. It seems like they bet too much on Halo

I'm wondering about accessories.
Gears tactics looks to have been shadow announced as a launch title which is cool.
Would love flight simulator at launch as it seems the best candidate to show off the X, I imagine their priority is on the pc version though.

No launch line up, no idea on accessories, and nothing on extra storage yet.

Where we saw Sony be reserved about the number of games also coming to PS4 and only letting that out after the fact it might be that Microsoft doesn't wanna put on blast their launch lineup because while they do have some first party titles they're remastering/upscales for Series X?

According to Gamestop lineup at launch is as follows

Assassin's Creed: Valhalla
Dirt 5
FIFA 21
Fortnite
Gears 5 (Series X Upgraded)
Gears Tactics
Marvel's Avengers
NBA 2K21
Observer: System Redux
Tetris Effect: Connected
The Falconeer
Watch Dogs Legion
Yakuza: Like a Dragon

And then Launch Window is

12 Minutes
Call of the Sea
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War
Control: Ultimate Edition
CrossfireX
Dead Static Drive
Everwild
Exo One
Lake
Last Stop
Mad Streets
Outriders
Overcooked: All You Can Eat
Planet Coaster: Console Edition
Rainbow Six Siege
Recompile
Sable
Scorn
Shredders
Song of Iron
The Artful Escape
The Ascent
The Big Con
The Medium
Tunic
Unexplored 2: The Wayfarer's Legacy
WRC 9

I also saw a QA guy tweeting that MS was gonna drop prices $50 further today (tweet has since been deleted), but I'm taking that with a chunk of salt the size of my head

Yeah from another thread pulling it together ourselves we got

(cut out console launch lineup list)

Sign me up for Little Hope, Gears Tactics, XIII (loved the original), The Medium and of course 300 hours in Cyberpunk 2077. Looks like a good line up to me!

Here what I would like Microsoft to do/announce before release :

- a list of Series X enhanced backward compatible games
- a clear list of the launch lineup
- launch your damn marketing campaign
- remove online paywall for free to play games
-clarify the Game Pass linup for the end of the year (or even maybe the roadmap for 2021, like they did at X019)

I asked myself the same thing, OP. I was looking to sell some stuff and started doing the math but then thought "what game am I gonna get?" Then I decided to just wait.

Everwild launch windows it would be awesome... But errr, sorry for the dumb question, do we have an exact definition of "launch window"?

I would say normally launch window would be within 2-3 months, but I don't think anyone has a hard definition for it. I'm sure we could look back historically and see what most people say is launch window and where that falls but in this instance assume launch window is still within 2020 and the ones that are stretching it would be January~ish

Is the medium a launch game? Bloober have confirmed their other game for launch but the medium is still sitting at *holiday* I think. Bit odd to confirm one and not the other.
You are right. Apparently the Medium isn't confirmed for launch. So I think the Falconeer is the only console exclusive new game. I guess MS is relying a lot on GamePass, All Access and the fact that early adopters will buy one either way.

There's no technical definition but people generally seem to use it, for a console with a holiday release, to refer to the period extending to about the end of March, which is a convenient cut-off point because it's the end of the fiscal year for many companies (though not Microsoft) and as such generally sees a few additional titles released. Infamous Second Son, for example, was a PS4 launch window title, releasing in March 2014.

Basically, think "the first full calendar quarter after launch."

Damn, I really hoping you might @ me with an announcement I missed hah! I'm personally not bothered about how many exclusives they have etc anyway, I'll be buying ps exclusives over there and everything else on xbox but I would like to play The Medium asap

I would love to know the cost of the extra storage/SSD's from Seagate. Still no price on that.

I would hope for something today. Blogpost on Xbox Wire at the least?

- What new accesories are available
- confirmed launch titles so far
- Next gen BC enhancements detailed for more games (SEA OF THIEVES THANKS)
- this BC 'framerate doubling' thing explained?

I hope so, because I want to know what's coming early 2021 and whether Flight simulator is part of that. I need more information on FM, too.

Is there a single game at launch that you need a series x or s for in order to play it?

Unless a third party dev decides to make a game specifically for the Series X and nothing else then this will never be the case for it's entire lifetime. All first party stuff (generally the 'exclusives') will be coming to PC. If you have a beefy enough rig then you're good. Grab Game Pass/buy the games there.
