This is my favorite.

Chief Wiggum it is!I like that their advice for character building is less about classes and archetypes and more "pick your favourite fictional detective and try to emulate them".
Yeah when I heard inland empire compared to Dale Cooper I was like "This is the one I have to go with"
This is great
This is crazy! A detective RPG citing Planescape: Torment and The Wire as inspiration is something I never thought I'd live to see happen. I absolutely love everything I've seen and read about this game so far
Your character is a noir Nameless too. Has a history in the city, doesn't remember his background or name, and now you're piecing together your identityYa.
Even the visual style of the text looks like a nice little reference to Planescape.
In a day and age where social and political issues are subtly weaved into the very fabric of nearly every form of entertainment, Disco Elysium takes them head on without a hint of shyness. Disco Elysium is certainly not a game for those that are faint of heart, but if you have a sense of humor, and you're looking for a breath of fresh air then Disco Elysium is a must buy game. If it doesn't make you laugh out loud a time or three, I'll ride the Cock Carousel.

I think I might go for a Sam Vimes-esque build first. Good at understanding the criminal mindset, a streetwise scrappy fighter with a finger on the pulse of the city but perpetually stubborn, cynical and dour.
This is good.
My vote goes to this
Yup, it's this.
This one is perfect
OK, that settles it: my first run will be maximum Physique, minimum everything else. This might be useful
From RPS, a character building guide: Disco Elysium skills & character creation: Intellect, Psyche, Physique, Motorics, and the 24 skills explained
Ooh this is also a good one.I think I might go for a Sam Vimes-esque build first. Good at understanding the criminal mindset, a streetwise scrappy fighter with a finger on the pulse of the city but perpetually stubborn, cynical and dour.
i was going to do this but unfortunately i'm a real-life idiot savant that talks to his neck tie :(
It's been a minute since I've watched Psych, but isn't he the walking embodiment of visual calculus? lolBeen watching a good deal of psych lately, so I'll probably try a character that's max psyche with pretty good intelligence, and pretty meh everything else lmao

imagine arguing with a door so well that it just opens for you."[Rhetoric - Impossible 18] Persuade the door to open."
This game is going to be something special, isn't it?
That has to be a combo of Rhetoric and Inland Empire, right?"[Rhetoric - Impossible 18] Persuade the door to open."

i can barely convince myself to get up most mornings, to be fair.

Intellect seems to be better if you want to favor a cop who can gather a lot of info while Psyche makes you better at deciphering and assessing information. I'm leaning towards a cop who (ideally) is great at bluffing and lying and manipulating people because he's pretty terrible at everything elseI really can't decide whether I'm going to emphasize Intellect or Psyche. Both seem super tempting.
This is about 1/100th as odd as some of the stuff in the game"[Rhetoric - Impossible 18] Persuade the door to open."

Will you have a review up tomorrow? Been seeing your tweets on the game over the last weekThis is about 1/10000th as odd as some of the stuff in the game

…and the voiced dialog, which he thought was amazing and wants more of it.Audio-wise the music fits the theme fairly well, but isn't overly memorable.
(which is a silly request for a small development studio to provide for a million lines of dialog, so maybe the reviewer is new to writing about video games). The voice acting is phenomenal, and it's really disappointing to get half way through a conversation and the NPC suddenly doesn't have any audio anymore. Please patch the game and do them all! They are great!
