The latest and greatest offering from the Switch modding community comes in the form of a real-time graphics overlay - letting us see all the diagnostic info behind each game. GPU and CPU load, frame-rates, thermal readings and even fan speed are in full view here - all pointing to the increasingly smart ways Switch's Tegra X1 chipset is utilised.

NOTE: Frame-Rate and Frame-Time graphing is in development for this mod and fps counters are on the latest build. However, for this video, we used an older build and overlaid our own performance metrics from our in-house tool fpsgui.

Really interesting video to see what the Switch is doing underneath the hood. But I have to ask, Link's Awakening wasn't a Unreal Engine game, was it?

Really goes to show that had they made a non-portable Switch and outfit it with superior cooling, they really could have milked a lot more performance out of some of these games.
