Ask me in 20 years when it is finally released. :P
Yeah, I'm still hyped. The new Adventure series hasn't been bad, but I'm excited for new characters and less-used main Digimon.
Ah, the new Adventure series is the one that's like a remake/reimagining of Adventure 1 right? I think I only got to see like an episode or two on Crunchyroll around Ramadan. The whole season is complete now?
Oh yes the Cyber Sleuth series was a couple of my favorite games this generation (aside from the Mass Effect 3 level awful ending of CS 1) and I would love to see what they do next. It's strange though because I really didn't have any interest at all in Next Order even though that was the next game available, but Survive really grabs my attention despite it looking like a very different game.
So it looks like these figures are more of a generic Bandai line, rather than any Tamashii/SH/Figu lines? Trying to be pretty strict with the lines i buy so they don't get out of hand :x

Nah, it's on episode 17 of I believe 66 total (jesus, I'm still wondering how we get to the final episode from where we are at). Jury is still out on whether it is a worth the reboot, imo. Some strong episodes and some weak episodes.

I think the recent Omegamon X-Antibody and the Omegamon Merciful Mode figures are under that "Ultimate Image" line. It may be that I don't have a strong attachment to any of those Digimon and I'm no expert, but I've found the quality on them to be a bit "meh" from the images I've seen.

Ah, yeah that's probably it then. Didn't even realize the Omegamon X was even a figure, since I feel like almost all of the Antibody lines have been model kits, up until then. Yeah I'll pass then, and just stick to D-Art/FiguArt and GEMs (which are... quite the set as is >_>)

Merciful mode figure isn't great but the omegamon x is definitely nice. The ultimate image series is by the Bandai subsidiary which deals with cheaper figures like gachapon & candy toys. Usually they're by megahouse and better quality.

Saw Kizuna and will echo what people have been saying in that it is much better than Tri.
Honestly, the only thing that drags it down for me outside of PaperSparrow nitpicks (and the handling of a forever mishandled character) is unfortunately the core of the plot.
Menoa says the Digimon choose their partners because children have endless potential which goes away during adulthood, so the Digimon disappear. Ignoring that I don't agree with that on its face, it makes no sense considering she loses her partner at 14. Just because she is going to college doesn't make her an adult. Which leads us to the other somewhat implied reason, "wanting to grow up". This is pretty much contradicted by the same show with Joe and Cody/Iori. Speaking of, Joe is at his job and still has Gomamon??? Sora loses her Digimon before him, the dude that was wanting to grow up the second he was introduced?
This isn't even going into how the 02 epilogue defangs the whole thing.
Otherwise, the animation was great, loved seeing the other characters from season 2, and the pacing avoided the meandering mess of Tri. There was an obvious focus on the more popular characters, but that makes sense in a movie and all but one got a small time to shine.

this is pretty much my entire thoughts as well. Only thing I have to add is that I wish we saw more Kari/TK (though they got more screen time than others but still...)
Also really enjoyed seeing the 02 kids more than I thought I would. Especially Ken/Wormmon. <3
The 02 ending basically makes the entire movie worthless. It's the same with Dragon ball super, there aren't any real stakes since everyone will be fine anyway.
The cheap drama of losing their partner Digimon was even used in Tri already. The Digimon losing their memory isn't any different than separating
Yeah, really missed them with all the focus on the original 8 lately. If the anime is going to stay on the Adventure trajectory after colon, I wouldn't mind a 02 reboot.

Hell, it's older than that, going back to the first season. Separating from your Digimon is such a staple of the franchise and has been done better. I wish they could have aimed for a different theme, but you can't deny the "Remember this thing from your childhood? Now let it go!" has a strong effect on people.
that's exactly what i thought when i read that. I'm guessing because they already did blackwargreymon they don't want to re release wargreymon again so soon. Megahosue barely ever reprint and i think this is the first precious g.e.m. figure to get a reprint so they'll probably do wargreymon a month later or after mg releases.

That top row has some great designs! New Digimon that come out still look a lot better than most X-Antibodies :p Honestly, if only they put them in this art style, I think they wouldn't look nearly as bad...
I do think the comic book Watanabe heavy shading style is often overlooked for how crucial it is to Digimon's visual identity. No idea why they ever went with the flat shaded realistic style for X-Antibody peeps back in the day, but the more recent X mons show a vast improvement. You can see it with BlackAgumon.
Would like them to go back and "fix" a lot of them. The metallic Digimon like TigerVespamon and MetalGarurumon X are fine though, imo.
The orchestral stuff is great (tonally less happy, and also less varied). I think the insert songs are growing on me. Its definitely not as good as the original but that show still has one of the best OSTs of any anime. This is definitely a notch above most other shows.

A friend of mine rented the movie and I was able to watch it with him-
Damn I really hope no one watches that movie that has Sora as their favorite because GODDAMN. I honestly have to commend them for that. It was subtle but when I saw her greyed out degivice during the finale I was like, "they really did her dirty like that". Also I hate Tri but I do like that Meiko was seen alongside the other kidnapped kids. And that was Wilis in the scene on the beach right? He had his two digimon with him. That cameo gave me life.
Ultimately this felt like what I wanted Tri to be. I liked that the digidestened worldwide was kept because I hated how it practically wasn't a thing in Tri. The 02 kids actually get a lot more screentime than some of the original kids so that was cool (though Tai and Matt likely should have brought them along but I digress). I don't care that it's obvious they'll get their digimon back, I just respect them for not having them come back in the film. The plot with the main villain felt honestly tired to me and after Tri the twist was really obvious.
I'm in for whatever the sequel movie is. Hopefully they just stay away from any plot points we've already explored.
I also finally watched Kizuna (my disc had some glitchy reverb sounds, so Imma contact Rightstuf/Shout! for maybe a replacement).
Soooo many different emotions with this! Animation was amazing, and opening up to Bolero and Parrotmon was great! This version of Brave Heart was great too, and nice that Koushirou integrated their Digivices onto their phones! Was sooooo nice to hear the ending song from Our Wargame play when Taichi and Yamato were eating Korean bbq, and heh, weird to see them old enough to drink beer :p
The dubtitles reallllllly annoyed me, and they used them even for texts. One thing I noticed, was when Miyako sent her email, it said both "Miyako" (not Yolei) and "DigiDestined" on it. C'mon Toei, your consistency sucks across all mediums! Glad the Digimon Heroes! mobage was actually translated :x
Lots of the animation and stills reallllly wanted to try and capture some Hosoda throwbacks, and I don't mind! Also nice hearing other familiar themes, like both a cello and soft jazz version of TARGET.
Taichi with porn was uhhh something else lol. Oh innocent Agumon! Then Gennai (the real one) came back for 2 seconds. Lots of other familiar faces with Mei, Wallace, and a bunch of the "World Tour" kids, really doubling down on 02 ending stuff. The villain being the typical "I'm doing this to save everyone" is pretty on the nose with safeguarding, being Eosmon's defenses.
And then yeah, as much as they double down on 02's ending with their jobs (omg so glad Kenyako was barely a thing in this!) well, Agumon and Gabumon left... then you realize why Sora was also mopey early with a charred-looking Digivice. Well yeah, Sora and Piyomon were really done dirty here. No wonder she didn't join them in Neverland!
Overall, I loved it in different ways, but villain was way too on-the-nose with everything. Still made me a lil emotional at the end, too >_>
Yeah I'd say that he "made it". Koushiro also owns his own company and still has Tentomon. I guess it depends how much life drifts them apart. Sora was just like flowers > Piyomon, or something? :p

I'd imagine Joe's job leaves him little time for Gomamon lol. I get that it's ultimately a big contrivance for dramatic effect but those two really stick out like sore thumbs when they're trying to explain why this separation happens. I will admit it was nice to see Joe so willing to fight after his stuff in Tri. It just bugs me because this concept is introduced in this film but they're also like, "don't think about it too much". It's established the 02 kids just jump around the world on a whim still, but they don't think about taking them to fight Eosmon at the end despite all of them being far off from the timer activating on their D3s because uhhhhhhhh
I really did enjoy the film but this plot point is just a little too sus for me
Also, I mentioned D3s earlier, but I can't remember if the 02 kids still used those or if they used the upgrades like everyone else. If anyone remembers or actually owns the movie I'd love an answer. I loved how in Tri, above all else, Takeru and Hikari still used their D3s.

Wow, I loved Last Evolution way more than I thought I would. It's not perfect, but it hit hard for me.
There's just so much good: the homages to the original films, the animation, the usage of new and old music, THAT ending. Just blown away by how much I liked it.
What I think I liked most is that it's not that convoluted of a plot. There's no grand scheme, there's no destruction of the digital world. The movie has a singular focus about telling about a story about moving beyond your childhood and it is incredibly successful in hitting that theme. I even didn't mind the antagonist, despite the film having to introduce both her and the whole time limit thing.
The focus on Tai and Matt is what it is, but it makes sense to frame the film around the two most popular characters. I could see fans of the other characters feeling like they're getting shafted (again?), but there's some really great character development for Matt and Tai that was sorely missing in Tri.
The only thing I'm slightly critical of is the lack of agency the digimon have throughout most of the movie. Agumon and Gabumon get some towards the end, but overall they're just treated as pets basically. The over usage of their champion forms and Omnimon was also kind of a bummer, but I enjoyed that they received a final evolution at the end (despite not loving the design). Still, minor nitpicks in what otherwise is really terrific.
I dropped off the new series after a few episodes, but watching this has made me want to get back into that as well.
Xros Wars was always weird with how they didn't really have "levels" in the same way as the traditional shows. I think because that was weird, I never really accepted that form of mish-mash evolution. I remembered how confused Armor evolution was, but I know that at least was an Adult/Champion equivalent

Yeah, not sure how I feel about the Dragon Mode though I appreciate they implemented it. It does look like it compromised Fighter Mode a bit.
I will say, I bought the MetalGarurumon kit a bit back and it was fantastic (ignoring the amount of stickers). Not sure if WarGreymon, Omegamon, or Imperialdramon are up to the same snuff, but if you are into model kits, these are worth looking into, imo.

I got Omnimon from the first run and he's good. I've got the other two, just need to put them together, but I want to paint them first, since Wargreymon's colors are a bit muted.
So I played around with that Digimon size comparison chart cause I was like "Eldoradimon is massive, it HAS to be one of the biggest Digimon!" Turns out yes, it is waaaay bigger than Whamon. I guess Whamon comes in 2 different sizings (not sure what they are both based on) AND wayyyy bigger than Yggdrassil. But then I noticed another name... Kingwhamon. ....that guy is even bigger than Eldoradimon, and similar with the whole having a whole world on its back, thing. There's still so much in the Digimon encyclopedia I'm so unfamiliar with... I don't think anyone can beat Kingwhamon's size... can there?

Yeah, that's the size chart I was thinking of. It's hard to compare to the anime mons sometimes because they can change sizes, but I have to imagine GraceNovamon and Ogudomon X are up there. Too bad the art book doesn't list the height.
Unfortunately, it looks like all the ones here listed above aren't even searchable on it :/ but yeah Ogudomon X looks absolutely massive, and probably is the biggest yet. Like, 2000 ft or something?
