Why does it matter how much of it was due to the writer and the editor? They posted an image of underage porn.

It matters in that you'd probably want to make sure who the "they" in that sentence is before you start calling for someone to be fired, mostly?

I again want it to be clear that I obviously understand what people are angry and absolutely do not think it should have been posted myself. But I want to see what the statement on it is before I'll know how to feel about who was involved.

What do you mean cmon fam???? You support what kotaku is doing? They need to be penalized. Suing them will be a great way to show that they should have been more aware of the content they produce. I m literally about to throw up. I m glad the mod removed the link. Why did the op even post it??

I can kinda see the point of writing about cheap, amateur fanfic porn.

But maybe don't put actual child pornography on your website Kotaku.

Not for an article on a major website that will be read by thousands. People can do whatever in their privacy.

Err what people do in their privacy has a greater range of appropriateness than upturned eyes would suggest. :p

Publication on widely viewed outlets simply make troubling stuff widely viewed, code violating troubling stuff... which is 2 times worse..!! And a shortcut to the inevitable legal consequences of flirting with it all in the first place.

I know that the problem are those pictures used in the article, but is watching fictional underage characters having sex in a porno normal or ok ?

If you're over 18 doing so will get you ready-Freddie for that pedo lifestyle and all its wonderful implications! (/s)

This is actually disgusting. Also from the few paragraphs I've read I didn't really get the point of the article.

I usually only read Kotaku when it's a article from Jason, I remember a few articles from Overwatch that were just terrible which made me question their professionalism. This one takes the cake though, wtf.

"Did Kotaku post child pornography? Here's the link to the child pornography Kotaku posted."
>Clicks link
why couldn't I have entered this topic AFTER the link was removed

What's even more baffling is that the author goes on about how the content isn't very "lore accurate" and how she's very much into Harry Potter, so... Yeah, she knows 100% that all those characters are underage.

I didn't say it was more appropriate. But it's not like I would know about it to condemn them. People look up all sorts of shit online.

And yes, I agree with you.

Well at the very least the editor had to have greenlit the article for publication.

Further distribution and downloading is the worst thing you can do when it comes to shit like this...and she literally did that.

No words really.

I wonder if the writer doesn't know the characters are underage or thinks they aren't because of how they look but she should know who those characters are.

Actually most people should know.

Wtf

You can be sexually free, open and honest without normalizing sexual depictions of children with depictions of real child actors at that.

This needs to be addressed by Kotaku with quickness.

With the exception of the Harry Potter porn that is taking place in a school, would anyone even know or think these characters are underage without specific knowledge of their in game listed age?

Cuz a lot of the people who are into SFM porn like this stuff don't really care two figs on what their lore accurate age is, and just go off the appearance of the character. If they don't really look like a child, then "fair game".

Misty is borderline tho.

Kotaku also did an article on Overwatch porn, so I can't say I'm surprised. I understand the idea of "Everyone's an adult here. We can talk about porn without being weird about it" but then they went and made it weird. Only the second time they've made an article about porn and somehow it's worse than last time. I'm still shocked Kotaku approved this.

I mean I find it hard to believe that a person who is probably in their twenties or early thirties doesn't know who either Harry Potter or Pokemon is who writes for a video game website

I know Kotaku is kind of a blog but this is kinda much.

There are like 15 sex games on steam every week. Was a review of those not in the cards somehow?
