User banned (1 day): off-topic drive-by trolling, hostility towards another member
Jason is too busy defending Epic Game Store and criticizing japanese game developers.

Jeez, I wonder if all the people suddenly showing up for asking for their ban for this one thing have an agenda or something

What was the point of the article? It just seems like she was describing what she saw followed by a "Game sex is bad". There was no deeper analysis or discussion.

I clicked the link because the OP used the word "implied", but I really should have scrolled down to some of the comments first. I'm sure I'm on a watchlist now.

Can we get a staff post telling people to stop whining about these past articles?

There's seemingly nothing wrong with them so it's weird to look at them alone as if it's fine to insult them. And similarly, even jumping on the writer to begin with... you guys know an editor definitely was involved, right? Maybe wait till you know how this happened, who decided to include what.

Posted 50 minutes ago and it's still up. Are they having a debate on whether or not to keep this up or what?

Nah when Jason legit spends dozens of hours making an article it is well worth the read
Well that's the thing isn't it?
There are plenty of journalists in gaming that do great work. The only problem is it tends to take weeks, months, or even years of interviews, investigations, fact-checking, etc. Websites live and die by clicks, and nobody can afford to wait for these articles to materialize.

Still, I'd rather Kotaku do something, anything, besides publish an article about underage porn.

The Internet
Most page views and highest click rate they've had for ages, it'll be up for at least another 3 hours so other 'news outlets' can report about it and create some extra 'buzz'.

"Implied" nothing. That was pretty much explicit porny images featurning underaged cartoon characters. Time to bleach my phone now.

A shock piece, and by the looks of this thread a pretty damn effective one. Get them clicks Kotaku. *shrug*

Sooo...time to cancel Kotaku? It seems there is no editors on that page...

...no

the write-up is fine, delving into the realm of video game porn with good humor is fine, it just seems like the relevant people failed to distinguish between this particular corner of video game porn with others covered in the past and thus didn't take extra measures to present it more...appropriately

tip to Kotaku: keep article, delete and/or censor pictures, don't overreact to bad faith actors

I was certainly not expecting to be greeted by images of uncensored child pornography on a news outlet this afternoon.

there's something with video game porn and being progressive I guess?

who wrote "Pokemon I'd like to fuck" last year?

I didn't say anywhere that posting child porn is fine, just saying that it's odd that people are asking for kotaku to be banned for something that will likely get resolved and get an statement for in a few hours.
it's one of those things where it should have been done in the first place . for a site to not have any checks or balances to stop this it needs to be looked at extensively

Weird. Not illegal per say (at least in the US), but still a very strange/creepy thing to make an article about.

Not sure what people expect Jason to say or do. It's not like he owns the site, or has to answer for what his coworkers do.

I know that the problem are those pictures used in the article, but is watching fictional underage characters having sex in a porno normal or ok ?

Out of sheer morbid curiosity, I clicked on the link and yeah... that is not implied and actual explicit underage content. Can the author get charged even if it is animated and digital?
