Post of the month!
Isnt it actually better if they would just not show anything about that? Keep it secret until a year before window release
Yes they should follow Rocksteady's example.Isnt it actually better if they would just not show anything about that? Keep it secret until a year before window release
It kinda reminds me of that certain company tooBlizz is notorious for announcing games 5 years before release.
How is this still years away lol, it's been 10 years since D3 came out? Have they just been doing that cinematic?
Rushed reveal due to the Hong Kong backlash? Probably. Those graphics will be outdated by late 2021 due to the next gen console releases.
Surely you're not serious? Do you think that cinematic was made in 2 weeks?So... they literally just announced the shiny toy everyone wanted as a distraction
"Diablo 4" has been started and scrapped a couple times. The current game started dev sometime in 2017 iirc. How is this still years away lol, it's been 10 years since D3 came out? Have they just been doing that cinematic?
Try being a Warcraft 3 fan, and then come back to me.It has been less than 8 years since D3 came out.
After Diablo 2: LOD, we had to wait 10 years for Diablo 3 which was not what some D1/D2 fans wanted.
When D4 comes out, some fans have been waiting 20+ years for the true sequel to D2.
I am really pleased with the direction they have taken with D4. I can wait few years for this.
Diablo 3 released on ps3 and 360 as well.
They are announcing this early so that investors could shut up about Hong Kong

Wasn't this game originally going to be announced last year too?
They announced it now to get the heat off the HK issue. It seems to have worked looking at the announce thread, the rest is minute details in Blizzard's plan.
People are big brain dumb. The idea that these announcements could be decided a couple weeks in advance is really funny to me.
I'm kinda surprised that these games take so long to make but I only play the story mode one time through. I'm guessing it's a lot of work adding all the extra multiplayer and grind on top.
Yep. That Mei focused Overwatch cinematic was also clearly made in response to the HK fiasco considering they're using Mei as a symb- Wait. It's really impressive how Blizzard can make a CG trailer in a week. Disney and Pixar can go eat shit now.

Not really new for Blizzard. Chances are Shadowlands will get it's date sometime next year.Out of all the games announced none of them have a release date?! Even for Warcraft Reforged?!

Wasn't Diablo 3 announced like two years before the actual release?
They've been planning this since last Blizzcon, lol.If you were trying to not make it look like this announcement was just to take people's minds of the HK mess, whew this ain't it chief.
I don't think Diablo 4 is as far as most make it seem. 2021 would be my guess, which is only 2 years, or a year and a half.Yeah old Blizz was known for having a slow output but I would have thought they would have at least a release date for one of the titles shown. I'm only interested in Diablo 4.

There's no way this game is actually coming to PS4 and XBO, then.
So this is par for the course. Not sure why we needed a multipage thread on this topic.About 3 years. People coming in here saying this is damage control clearly have no idea what they're talking about.
Ah yeah I actually just misread your post. Sorry!Oh trust me, I get that. People tend to treat video game development and marketing as some hyper-fast thing, and the particular timing of the HK controversy only compounds on that.
But it is what it is, as unfair as it is. And this doesn't help.
