IF YOU HAVE AN OLD AND OR WEAKER CPU AND ARE EXPERIENCING SLOWDOWNS, DOWNLOAD THE DENUVO FREE .EXE

Seriously. The difference is like night and day.

game's been great so far aside from audio desync and some frame drops in cutscenes. followed the advice in this thread, too.

really, performance problems could probably be helped if i just took the the time to clean my pc.

game is currently running around 80-110fps on my pc. looks awesome

Are there any graphics settings which are not that notable and give a boost in performance when turning down?

also I'm still fiddling a bit with the brightness option. I already had some issues with RE2

Any 980ti or 1070 folks playing at 1440p?

I'm hoping I can just max it out on my 980ti and not have to worry about any dips under 60. Paired with an i7 4790.

So DX11 does seem to increase framerate a bit for me, especially in the one cutscene I viewed with both DX11 and DX12, but it does introduce a stutter when moving into a new area. Not sure which I prefer yet.

Game runs flawlessly (Ultra, 120% res scale 1080p) on my 4790k/RTX 2070. I notice the shadow cascade and that the DOF in some cutscenes looking kind of low res, but aside from that really good graphics. I would like to have better options to some effects or AA, but no major complaints.

Game doen't start for me, it seems to be in a loop switching resolutions (i can see the afterburner stats getting bigger/smaller), when it arrives at the capcom logo the game hangs.

RE2 crashed when I tried running with Afterburner. Close all FPS-counting software then try again.

Would an i7-7700 at 3.6ghz with a 1070 have any noticeable benefits with the denuvofree .exe?

ALRIGHT . With the exe and downloaded the win 10 media codec files. Everything is fixed.

Time to play

I too have a purple tint on my screen. Whatd you change the resolution to? I really dont want to have to play in 1080p or else I wouldve just bought a console. Every game lately has had this issue like Anthem and The division 2

In the ini there was this resolution thingy that had a weird number (122). I changed that to 60, which makes the game render in a tiny window with huge black borders. It was enough to get me in game to adjust the settings properly.

4k only worked for me in windowed. I get the same tint issue on borderless and fullscreen. There doesn't seem to be any issue below 4k.

Everything looks and run amazing at 4k on my 1080ti.

Quick question. Is there something up with DOF? In some cutscenes stuff that isn't in frame and the focus can end up looking really low res/jaggy. Noticed it in a handful of parts for cutscenes. Most notably when the shot is showing the demon reflected in Dante's eye at the very start if the game.

Sweet Jesus this game is well optimised. Tried it in 4K Ultra and getting about 50 FPS. Way more than I expected for my rig. Looks gorgeous.

Ok i managed to set the game in borderless window and it's behaving normally, it doesn't seem to like fullscreen for some reason.

What can I use to display fps? Steam doesn't work, Afterburner worked when I first tried, but now it doesn't all of a sudden...?!

Noticed this with nico's cigarette in one of the van scenes.

I get basically perfect 60 FPS at 1440p on 970 in gameplay, but in cutscenes it tanks to as low as 30. I tried to disable DOF in the ini file and it indeed helped quite a lot (dips to 40 FPS), but I noticed that DOF wasn't the only thing affected - the cigarette smoke in the Mission 1 intro completely disappeared. It was kinda funny to see Nero waving his hand at clean air. Anyway, be wary that by disabling that option you lose more than just DOF.

Game was working fine then the screen froze and the audio kept going into the mission. Smfh.

Can anyone with a 2700X / 1080 Ti chime in on performance? I have a 1440p G-Sync 144Hz monitor, so just trying to gauge what I could achieve.

So does DX11 really remove some visual effects like some people thought it did earlier in the thread? I know that'd be weird but you never know.

I wanna use reshade but I don't want to lose any of the default visuals

I'm playing at 4k with 70% resolution scaling (I'm pretty sure that's higher than 1440p) on a 1070 with max settings and it never drops below 60 FPS.

Huge drops when using far away grapple points in mission 3 on my 1080ti/8700k. Also stuttering when entering new rooms

This engine is a fucking miracle.

Im playing this in 1080p/60fps with minor dips to 50-55fps with everything on high.

My specs:

I3 6100
GTX 1050 2GB
8GB DDR4 2100

What magic is this?

Runs like butter. Easily getting 80+ fps at 1440p with maxed out settings. There are some dips in hectic cutscenes or when there's a lot of smoke effects but it never goes below 40-50fps.

Not magic really. Just a clever use of performance saving techniques across the board.

For example, screen-space reflections are completely absent during gameplay, instead replaced with cubemaps. All post-processing buffers are lower than native resolution by default even on highest settings. Plus many post-rocessing effects, that are present in cutscenes, are turned off during gameplay.

That saves quite a bit of performance.

Im not complaining at all! It still blows my mind how optimized some games can get. Nobody would need a 2000gtx whatever they are called if every game would be so well optimized.

I get what you mean, but I wish they threw a bit more effort into giving more quality options for those with higher end GPUs.
