It sounded like a port with expanded content/new ending to me?
"The details of this game are a mystery" doesn't sound like it's just a port at least.
That wouldn't surprise me. But didn't the wording sound like a sequel?
Maybe sequel. Sounds more like Detective Pikachu The Royal to me - expanded version of the 3DS game.
Well this press conference has already exceeded my expectations by having something that actually looks promising in it.
Enhanced port with additional story scenes, I'm guessing. I passed on 3DS, so I'll probably try this version out.

Neat! I just saw people using "sequel" a lot and the way they phrased it sounded like an expanded port with more story content at the end, but hey it's a brand new announcement so I imagine we'll know for sure soon.

That's my guess as well. Probably an enhanced port with an additional chapter that resolves the plot
