This needs definitely some in-match sound snippets at least, maybe some kind of fanfare when you wreck a car or KO a driver.

No. It remains yours for as long as you're a PS+ subscriber.
Should you no longer sub to PS+, then you would need to buy it in order to play it again.
Afaik it will be a full price release when it leaves PS Plus. when you´ve claimed it through Plus it is "yours" as long as you are subbed to Plus.
Played for 2 hours. Won a couple of matches. Already bored out of my mind.

I'm level 5 now, won in every mode at least once and I think I'm kinda done with the game.
Progression feels awful, cosmetics are laughable and the mtx are horrible. It doesn't feel good in any way to invest time in here.
Shame, loved the dual sense feeling tho.

After a couple hours in and...they really thought of selling it for 80 euros in Europe? Damn...
They will sell it for 80€ after it left PS Plus. (it is available on PS Plus till April 5th)
We know they will sell it after it leaves PS Plus...but do we know if the 80€ price remains?
Got to level 6 and I'm already thinking I'm done. You get 1k for every level and the higher stuff is like 8k. With the legendary stuff being 16k. Way overpriced and the game is also lacking in content.

- it looks great
- the best use of the dual sense outside of astro bot
however:
- the single player content is a fucking joke and you have to pay for it.
- the unlockables for each character...are they serious? there is just fucking nothing. different colors and lackluster emotes. this is not even bare minimum.
- no music in the game. at all. its just silent.
- there is no mayhem. it feels weirdly held back. you pretty much drive around the map and hope that an enemy is in front of you.
- there seems to be no challenge or tactic. i played 7 matches and won 5 of them. and i have no idea how. i was terrible.
there is no need for me to continue: all the maps feel identical, the unlockables are a joke, gameplay is lackluster.

Pretty much sums up my experience and feelings for this game.

Yeah this feels like something that has zero staying power. I feel drained after a few hours, there's just no good hook here.
The bank mode is the closest to hitting something with more interplay between being on foot to deposit and pick up scrap, but the matches feel like they have so much dead air and seem aimless on actually impacting and swinging a match.

If Sony's stupid enough to sell it at €80 the sales will effectively be at 0, forcing a drop. I honestly think the future of this game is f2p.
there is zero content for you to buy. no skins, costumes...there is just nothing.

Is it though? I think if you sub again, you can play it again. So it's basically, as long as you are subbed to PS+ you can play it. Only for the time you aren't subbed, you can't play.
Since it's a Multiplayer game, you need PS+ to play it anyways.

Yeah that's what I meant. You need to be subbed to PS+ and it remains yours whilever you are. If you aren't subbed to PS+ and want to play, then you'd need to own it via a bought copy.
Although as you say, yeah, I believe you'd need PS+ to play it anyway so it's likely a moot point.
It's got single player content in it. You could definitely load it up and play stuff without being subbed to PS+ if you owned the game.
You probably wouldn't (because it's obviously a multiplayer-first game) but, like something like Rocket League, you could totally play through the single player stuff without playing with others if you so desired.
I'm sure it wont be too long for that stuff to be added. They probably didn't want to launch a paid game and immediately have a bunch of stuff you can buy with real money at launch, even a publisher like Activision doesn''t immediately dropped paid skins when they launch a new CoD.

Really like the designs, but the game itself is... kinda boring? I can't think of any real strategy to use. Just driving around hoping to hit something and not get hit.
Maybe it will depend on how well it does on PS+, if it becomes a big hit then the price will probably remain, but if the players base drops off fast, I bet they discount it when they start to charge, unless they want to kill it altogether.

The more I play, the more I feel like this is a much less ambitious, barebones and pretty by-the-numbers take on the car combat genre.
The lack of oomph to the combat, fun to the driving and soundtrack (!?) is pretty weird.
I don't get why I'd play something like this over the likes of OnRush, which also failed but was super fun and had tons of personality that didn't rely on heroes.

I think devs did good for asking Sony to include the game on PS Plus. That way they can easily cover development costs. :p At full price i can't see this selling more than few thousands copies.
Tell me about it. Not having such a basic feature in MP game is baffling.
After like 90min with it this game seems aggressively "okay". For a game that is supposed to be all about personality, it's really got none outside of the character designs. The music isn't special, the skins for the characters are almost all just color swaps, the maps are pretty indistinguishable. Even the car physics and wrecks aren't bad but they don't feel great. Burnout this is not, in that regard. The single-player stuff is braindead simple and on top of that they want you to pay to unlock it. lol

I mean a game-wide option. There's no excuse to bury that in the activity cards.
I'm really impressed with this game visually. Really clean image quality, bright and colourful and a locked 60fps.
As a sandbox it's fun to drive around but not really enjoying it much yet beyond that. Will give it a bit more time tonight.

Sony is taking their sweet ass time with VRR update. It would help so many games.
This is the first time I'm playing true PS5 game online so had no idea it was hidden there. Still seems weird not having a single button in-game to mute everybody, though.
