Please proceed, I imagine there are some far right nuts savvy enough to know there is a lot of money to be made by running to the right of and trying to replace the GOP.

To me, the whole thing is just one grift after another. Grifters found and easy group to exploit and now everybody wants to cash in. There is ALWAYS some crazy group, conspiracy theory, villain to hate on to sucker more people in giving money.

How would a new party "MAGA" even be formed??
Can I go to the local courthouse and make a new party???
I've always wondered what it actually means If enough people really did want to break off and form their own legit party that ran in elections?

I do not think this will happen FYI. R party will continue to be devoured by Trumpers until that's what the party is...

This is the GOP breaking away from the GOP to become the new GOP.

Just like the Tea Party and all that other non-sense.

This moral satanic panic bullshit keeps happening every 20 years.

HOWEVER, this time they don't want to play by the rules. So it is scary.

One will consume the other, because there's only enough room for one to exist and conservatives will always fall into some established line. The question is which one eats the other.

Usually it's the GOP by virtue of being the established norm, but this MAGA shit does have one key thing going for them: Trump as a central god-figure equivalent to Reagan. The questions are if that's enough to win the majority over, and what the establishment GOP is going to be willing to do to keep itself on top.

i see a lot of celebration online, and people laughing at the idea that the GoP are turning on themselves, but I genuinely worry that all we will see is a more competent right winger, but much more extreme, who steps into Trump's shoes, takes his already brainwashed supporters, and is successful in their goals because Trump has already taught them what works and what doesn't.
I personally think we are headed towards Socialism vs Moderate. GOP could very well be dying and basically turning into Libertarians.

Yep, it is no longer a theory that people on the right are brainwashed and easily exploitable. The cat is out of the bag and everyone, including media groups, is chasing it.

"Destroy the GOP!"*

*After the Georgia election because we really want the Senate. Also, we won't care about this so much by the time 2022 rolls around and we'll vote for the GOP then too.

Destroy the GOP = an entire party of Trump bootlickers that are even more extreme than the GOP. What comes after will be even worse

Sure, whatever. I'll believe it when I see it. These babies will fall in line and vote a straight R ticket the very next election.

Funny, but pay attention to what's happening in the law enforcement and justice system. They don't all go around wearing red hats.

I guess this protest is taking place in DC right now but it remains to be seen if they're Georgians who would impact the upcoming senate runoff, or they're just GOPs from a variety of states and won't have a meaningful impact on the upcoming senate runoff.

At this point, this fucking group of numbnuts do nothing but chant slogans (and continue their everyday racist & misogynistic lives). Fuck every one of them.

Y'all really underestimate Republicans ability to just fall in line with shit.

This. They don't care how the fuck they do it, they just want to win first and foremost. That's why they cheat, thats why they use voter suppression, thats why they're going along with Trump and this brazen attack on democracy itself. Democracy was only OK when it allowed them to win. Thats how bad they want to win. They fucking lined right up behind Trump so fast the second he looked like he was going to win and acted as if there were no other candidates for president. Ted Cruz at the RNC told the republican party "vote your conscience" Look at where that got us the past 4 years. They don't have one. They always put winning first, then haggle over the details later.

This and also they will have convinced themselves (and be told by OAN) that the Biden presidency is worse than any in history, worse than Obama, worse than Hillary would have been, worse than Satan himself would have been. So they will all be screaming that the Chinese Socialist invasion of America must be stopped and babies must be saved or something else about pedophiles or immigrants, AT ALL COST, so they'll vote GOP.

As much as I would enjoy the GOP party crumbling I feel this will just turn into like when the TeaParty (which are pretty much the same people to an extent) hijacked the GOP. The GOP will pander to these people and go more extreme as a result.
Yup. This is what's going to happen. Have we learned nothing from cheering Trump on during the 2016 primaries?

monied interests took over the tea party and they will do the same with these dipshits. They only listen to what tv hosts say so they will fall in line.

As scary as a literal Fascist Party is, getting a Democratic supermajority even for a few years could do enough to voting rights to keep these psychopaths permanently in the dark, minus a Great Depression level event.

Still, it is entirely possible a Great Depression level event happens in the nearish future due to climate change, soooo.

This is a repeat of what happened in 2016. We were all laughing and toasting at the GOP implosion. You know what happened next.
Turns out we were in an echo chamber and the GOP came back stronger than ever.

This.

People laugh, but chances are are, they'll be able to reorganize quickly and become more powerful.

Nick Fuentes is a Nazi. He wants a white ethno-state and believes the Constitutions use of the word "stock" is referring to the white race, as in America should only have white people in it. He's a fucking lunatic but he's dangerous and ironically enough was reported as being one of the personalities Trump was bringing to Trump Tv but then Donny won the presidency.

Due to climate change? A Great Depression like event will happen a lot earlier due to weakness in the economy. All that money printing will eventually lead to high inflation or interest rates will need to increase and stop the printing. Asset markets will eventually crash. It could happen before the next election.

So realistically, if the GOP splintered and created and even farther right party than themselves, where does that leave the Dems and the countries hope for progress? The GOP would be the moderate party?

I shudder to think.

They would also be split in elections. That supposed schism affecting the left would pale in comparison to the MAGA vs. GOP remains.

This should have a good effect on the runoffs right?

I can't remember a time that infighting amongst themselves led them as a party NOT fighting the Dems in unison, and as aggressively as possible. That's mostly been a lefty thing unfortunately. They fall in line when the voting booth opens and will support as far to the right as they can get. Always.

We are the ones that suffer from that kind of stuff, not them.

There's always the possiblity of a terrible and shitty outcome of all of this, but the initial chaos would be great for the Dems.
The problem is what lies ahead.

70M people voted for that shit.

Time to consume again!

As funny as this is, it's unlikely that it'll amount to much. They always come home.

if this pushes dems over the goal line for a senate majority I will have hope for the first time in many a year that things will get measurably better in this country.
