Well, throughout the game you first steal your best friend's weapon, then his destiny, then finally you lock him away in the story's equivalent to hell.
Government sleeper agent with vague remit headshots people looting things and proceeds to loot things.

I'll describe two of my favorites in one go:
Man stranded inside fancy mansion where tragedies happen. A woman is always there, and she changes him.

Man really can't let go of his russian somewhat-mom and ends up meeting her whole wacky family as a result. For some cosmic reason he also meets her dead boyfriend.
