describe american culture in one sentence

I pretty much agree with all the negatives here, but for a change is there a positive sentence that someone can come up with?
There are plenty of positives. It's just we aren't on a site that has a high opinion of the US.
I live in NY and it isn't too tough to find good people here.
I'm going to do a mixture of good and bad and say:
"A large and diverse country pigeonholed into a two party system."
My mother: "I've heard the virus has gotten really bad in London" and completely oblivious that it's worse in the US.
We're an incredibly large and diverse country, so trying to sum up the culture in a single sentence is impossible. However, there's one idea that seems fairly pervasive throughout the country and was a huge part of the values by which many of us were raised:
If something good happens to you it's because you've earned it while if something bad happens to you it's a result of your own personal failings.
