First look: Demon’s Souls character creator and Photo Mode

Create a character that speaks to you, then capture their triumphs with an all-new Photo Mode.
  • Character Creator supports 16 million permutations.
  • Photo Mode has all sorts of functionality including poses, removal of weapon/armor/character etc.
  • Photo Mode filters are available outside of the Photo Mode ('persist filter to gameplay' function).
  • There exists one filter for mimicking the tone of the PS3 original game.
  • Online players increased from 4 to 6.
  • You can save aside different characters in the Nexus (Hub).

I was expecting more uglier looking characters since it's Souls series but I guess next-gen even helps with that.

That's some good looking characters.

Baldur's Gate 3 and now Demon's Souls with some good ass CC.

I really want other devs making RPGs to have some actually good looking character creations tools, looking at you Dragon Age 4 and Starfield/TES6

The game itself is a 2 generation bump, but the character creator looks like a 3 gen bump.

Yo does this mean I won't spend hours trying not to look like a monster?

Don't you go hollow after a death in Demon's Souls like in Dark Souls? It's super impressive, but it kinda feels like a waste to me since your character will look like beef jerky after you die, and 99% of people will cover the face up with a helmet anyway.

As someone who finished bloodborne 2 weeks ago I can say that this CC is a huge upgrade over that lol

Not hollow in the same way. You look the same just with less health and I want to say a glow - it has been a long time.

No, you enter Soul Form, which is looking exactly like your created character, but with a glowing aura around you and (usually) half your HP being capped.

The characters now look like they were built by someone who's seen a human face instead of sculpted by an alien that's only had a human face described to them.

The character creator can make things that look actually human?
