Why are the primaries so spread out? I can't even vote early for another two weeks and this is as good as done.

Bernie grades well with unions and has a history of protecting gun owners in Vermont. Something Biden even attacked him on. Also if you don't think the Republican narrative will be to call Biden a Socialist, you're wrong. McConnell literally admitted the playbook is the same regardless of candidate. They're all "far left extremists"

But sure lets divert away from the conversation to dog on Bernie when I'm talking about Biden going forward against Trump.
No, my point is that saying people should be making moral sacrifices for "electability" is exactly the same sort of shit the Bernie campaign was supposed to be against.

An argument that Biden will scare people away from the polls because "he's going to take away their guns" is fucking laughable coming from a campaign that said every other left-wing issue is non-negotiable.

Apologies to the poster who created this.. but I took a screen cap of it previously. Here are Biden's policies. There's a lot of good stuff in here, even if it isn't as far left as Bernie. A lot of these actually seem realistic too.

EScNdP-WoAU_d_P

These are all good and a step in the right direction. Bernie's plans are obviously much more comprehensive and take it a huge leap further, but are likely much more difficult to pass. Yea Biden is bordering on incomprehensible, but he's infinitely better than fucking Trump.

I'm surprised to see a lot of hand-wringing online about Biden swearing at a voter who is basically making the "wahh gonna take our guns" argument. Like, if someone made that argument here they'd probably be sworn at haha, just because someone is an American or in a union doesn't make them not ignorant.

Did you listen to Biden's response in that video? That was the point of posting it.

And on the subject of Biden swearing at a voter, I don't think it's too much to ask the potential future president to possess some level of civility when talking to their constituents. It's really not a tough ask, the bar should be set somewhere.

and it's clear that bernie attacking the establishment and failing to make any overtures to obama-land is why he's where he is. he is not bigger then obama and he needed obama voters to get the nomination.

Man was hoping for Bernie, these fuckin old people man. I'll still vote for him here in IL even tho it seems lost.

After this I'll vote Biden and D all the way down the ballot but I'm probably not watching debates anymore. I think Biden can win this but I dont really care to watch it.

Prob gonna avoid these threads too because honestly, some of the ridiculous doom and gloom I feel is effecting me way more than it should.

No matter how you slice it. People are coming out and voting for him.
Yea gotta admit this. That's just how Democracy works. Though I think it has less to do with Bernies campaign and more of people just being scared shitless of another Trump term. I hope the progressive moment doesn't die with him tonight. Especially when a "young voter" did show up in both 2016 and this primary.

Is this the same town hall in which he said he's not an expert on Sweden's economic policies, after basing his whole Democratic Socialist persona on Nordic countries' economic policies?

He was talking about current economic policies, when she asked him about current tax cuts to lure corporations. If I'm remembering right.

Sorry Bernie fans, it's not meant to be.

The Progressive movement will go on and it will be lead by better leaders. Don't lose hope. Focus on winning Congressional seats. That's where the real long-lasting change happens.

Warren is too old to be VP for the oldest president ever. You can expect his VP choice will be 3 out of these 4:
- Much younger
- Female
- POC
- More left

There was an ongoing discussion on another site that his VP will be someone they'll be grooming as their presidential heir apparent which this would fit perfectly at.

Huge Bernie guy here but if any of you go Bernie or bust in general election and Trump wins against Biden, remember deep down you have absolutely not even an ounce of moral authority to criticize whatever the unchained Trump admin will do now that they don't have to worry about reelection.
If Trump wins against Biden it's because Biden's a shit candidate

I didn't get either progressive candidates, but at least I'm fairly confident Biden can win in November. Turnout is looking good even in a primary.

Why is every criticism of Biden labeled as right wing
This.

I'm sorry, but some of you are NOT seeing what's going on out there. Some of you are underestimating Trump and his conservative machine. But Bernie cuts through that bullshit. I'm sorry, but if Biden is the nominee, we are in for more Trump.

PS: Bernies chances aren't that great either.

Seeing how Ilhan got treated the moment she bucked the liberal hegemony, I have a feeling those two will get the same treatment as Bernie when they're in the same place as he is.
Except they've both shown an ability to play within the system that Bernie has never shown. Like, he is flawed in a way that these two, AOC especially, are not. Pressley, for example, has already crafted legislation that would make student debt not count toward a person's credit score. It's a small thing that will help hundreds, if not thousands, of people. It won't fix the issue, but it'll help. They've shown a willingness to take smaller victories, to coalition build and make allies, that Bernie hasn't. I wanted him to win after Warren showed she couldn't, but I won't pretend he also didn't have his issues.

Everyone running had gigantic issues, honestly it scares the shit out of me that this was the best we could do.

Fuck this country dude. This was our last chance. Here's to more deportations, more people dying because of no health care, more people drowning in debt, more racial injustices being ignored, more wars killing brown people in other countries. But at least white liberals will be happy. My disdain for whites, specifically white people who pretend to be allies grows everyday.

I'm not sure what you're even arguing. The white % vote for Bernie was far larger than the white % vote for Biden. Biden won largely due to minorities voting for him. It seems in bad faith to blame white liberals for Biden's victory when minorities supported him far more than Bernie.

So old people come out to vote against a "socialist." Let's see them come out to vote in the general.
Exactly my thoughts. People that just want Trump out are seeing cable news tell them only Biden can do it 24/7 and on top of that the other candidate is a socialist. There are probably people raising from their graves to vote in this situation. Absolutely doubt that any of this matter for the General Election.

The Red Scare is real.

It won't. The misery Americans face, simply by the fact they're Americans and live in America, doesn't die with Biden as the nominee, let alone as POTUS.

conservative machine? they won because the midwest fucking really hated/hates hillary. they don't nearly hate biden as much at all. as you can see he just whooped bernie in michigan.

he does that and wins pa and the map is 2012 obama. which it probably will be.

plus biden puts florida in play. OLD PEOPLE LOVE BIDEN

He was talking about current economic policies, when she asked him about current tax cuts to lure corporations. If I'm remembering right.

Nordic countries are a whole lot more capitalist than Bernie makes them out to be, that was her point. If he wants to go back to the 80's Nordic model, there's a reason those countries aren't run that way anymore. If you're going to talk about Scandinavia literally every time someone brings up the fact you're a Socialist, it wouldn't hurt to know how those economies are actually run inside and out.
