He said it's 49% if you look at exit polls which is a big overperformance of their model which was 43%.
I did my part when I was younger and voted (was 24 when I voted in 2008). Now all us young Obama voters are in our late 30s, early 40s. Someone has to keep this party relevant and not republican.

Northam had a 8.5% win and they hesitated ~30 minutes before calling it just to make sure returns lined up.

Well that depends on how much outreach he did in the south. Did he significantly change the amount of time and relationship building spent in the south from 2016?
I think that is quite simplistic on your part. Southern older black voters just seem to like Biden and see him as more personable and authentic. He has built those relationships over decades even with the glaring issues he has. The fact that Bernie is very well at a similar percentage with the black vote from 2016 is kind of on him. He didn't even win young black voters in SC I don't believe.
We've had polls yesterday with Biden +14, +15 and +20, and he appears to outperform even that. Wow.

Obama was a rockstar to the black electorate, particular older ones who thought they'd never see a black president in their lifetime. We need to stop acting shocked that Biden is doing the best with that demo.
Yep. But also this is now the second time Bernie just didn't enough in the south to close the margins either. Its really infuriating that his campaign tried this same thing again.

He is doing better than he did in 2016. But Biden has kept his advantage.

There were a couple of national polls that showed Bernie winning a slim plurality of black voters before Pete/Amy dropped out. Either all the Biden endorsements changed things, or Bernie has a huge problem with southern black voters specifically.
