This probably sums up the game pretty well.
Greatness on the other side, the spear was the reviewers.
This gif remind me of Botw haha

Yeah, man. Absolutely hated their enthusiasm for Apex Legends, Control, Outer Worlds, Bloodstained. Bunch of grumpy fucks.I mean, I actually don't mind. Really. It's fun to hear what the other side thinks, and why their tastes differ. There's value in other people highlighting what you find appealing by contrast of opinions. But their enthusiasm is just ... lol c'mon.
I mean, the game clearly didn't strike the right note with the East Coast staff - and they haven't been able to discuss it for weeks, besides obtuse metaphors. You can understand why it'd be refreshing to get that off their chest.
If you only listen to them when they talk negatively about something, maybe that's painting your perception of their 'giddiness'.
VGC had a 40,and now has 60,they upload the score wrong and now is fixedOne of the 3/10 or was it 4/10 score was pulled from Metacritic.
But God of War was a 94 I believe on MC? It's safe to say a majority of GotY winners usually hit at least 90.Just a reminder that Metacrict scores don't define the goty. Last year is a good example. Don't underestimate this game.
Yup.
Oof my heart. Hard disagree. The Last Guardian is top 5 of the generation for me.Except TLG was trash performance wise and deserve every low score for that reason alone.
Hideo Kojima is currently on the phone to the box art production company asking if he can change the phase on the cover to 'A Kojima Productions game'.
So yeah, just a reminder that metacritic score means nothing at all:
One of the 3/10 or was it 4/10 score was pulled from Metacritic.
the hype was definitely getting to ridiculous/obnoxious levels. but in the end settling at 85, 86 will be a great result and i'm sure the game will sell very well.Still a really good score.
Not the citizen kane of gaming, and that's not a bad thing, I was annoyed by all this tbh.
I honestly get why people like them, Brad is genuinely awesome and his criticism is always great, Jeff is harsh but fair - although I think his taste in games is the opposite of mine as in I literally hate the games he loves; but I don't understand why people suddenly treat their reviews as if they were the one and only review that matters. "Horizon looks like an ubisoft fetch quest game" -Jeff gives it a 9/10- "I always knew Horizon was better than it looked".Man, the Giant Bomb people sound outright GIDDY that they get to piss all over the latest offering from a venerable team.
It's almost as if they're jaded...
Pretty much every review has found it nearly impossible to praise the gameplay in any meaningful way. Even the very highly scored ones.
Once the honeymoon phase is over for this game... whew.
So far all the reviews tell me is some reviewers seem almost hesitant to give it a bad score just because it's Kojima. Not one of these high scores reviews praises the games mechanics or story in any way.

it was always 3/5, it just got cataloged as 4/10 by metacritic by mistake. now they've fixed it.
Sekiro was pretty divisive after the honeymoon period. Resident Evil 2 remake will have issues getting votes because it's a remake.
The Outer Worlds is a wholly original game and well received by everybody. If I had to put money on it, I'd say that The Outer Worlds will take most GOTY votes.
Problem it's the biggest publications that vote on goty, that are the most deviciveJust a reminder that Metacrict scores don't define the goty. Last year is a good example. Don't underestimate this game.
Currently at 84 after 59 reviews. Not sure how many outlets will be reviewing the game but a 83-85 Meta is possible when when all is said and done.
yup. I can easily forgive TLG's performance issues since it's a game with a soul that actually made me feel something.Oof my heart. Hard disagree. The Last Guardian is top 5 of the generation for me.
This is really silly.I'm actually happy now that game is no more a PS exclusive title.
I completely understand respecting one's opinion if its sound and reasonable but that opening quote comes off as unnecessarily harsh
I'm sure this thread will be combed over by tomorrow night, don't worry.Wow, someone posted that Rooster Teeth clip in agreement with that trash take? Good lord, between that, someone's snippy little "oh, American reviewers are down on it" (yay, using a shitty little xenophobic dig when discussing a game that's about tearing down walls/making connections) comment and the general talking down your nose at places who don't agree with your preconceived notion of what a game *should* score...jesus a lot of ya'll are showing your whole ass right now.
Lmaoooooo i can't wait to hear the Beastcast.
