Here's hoping the game is that involved. I love Kojima, I really do, but the whole "LOOK AT THESE ACTORS YOU LIKE ACTORS YES?" and focus on mocap and stuff without knowing "What" those connections are or how it plays is still irking me a bit.

I feel like games are still trying to "prove something" to film lovers for whatever reason and I hope this doesn't end up going the way of animation and how they started padding out every film with random celebs to get people to buy into it.

I know it'll sell gangbusters regardless but all this emphasis on facial animations/actors, the typical Kojima spiel of "Here's these acronyms and vaguespeak" and other things has me skeptical. Then again MGSV apparently had a bunch of great systems and interactivity so I can only hope my skepticism is unwarranted.

This was the first time I've ever watched a trailer for a video game where my reaction at the end was "wow I cannot wait to watch a Let's Play of that".

Literally none of the gameplay looked interesting, but damn does the story intrigue.

I am tempted to get the game in the Indonesian store, not much for saving 5 euros, mostly because then I can play it 6 hours earlier. Hmmmm

I'm interested because it's something new from Kojima but at the same time I don't know what is in this game for me. The trailers are kind of all over the place and I've seen more cutscenes than actual gameplay. I'll see what happens when it comes out but the jury is still out on this one for me.

So, my favourite parts of MGS games were always the gameplay. The stealth stuff, whilst flawed, was always tense and really entertaining.

But Kojima cannot write for shite. The stories are pretentious, bloated and so bad. The characters are atrociously written and damn right offensive at times, not to mention how creepy the games are with female characters.

Think it was around the 4 hour mark into MGS3 when I started skipping every cutscene and could still piece together things about the same as anyone watching them all.

This just looks like it's going to be more of the same waffly guff.

More power to the folks that enjoy this, though. Not judging anyone for enjoying it or what have you.

The woman's name is Fragile, fucking really?
Please don't start.. Metal gear has the strongest most awesome women in any video game franchise ever. Look at big boss, who trained snake ffs. A woman, sniper wolf, just yeah. Don't even go there.

Its all in the product description and synopsis

He's commenting on the destructive nature of our current connected culture right on down to "covering the world in cables"

Now as for what commentaries the game will make when we near the end Im not sure till we play it

But the surface level themes of this game seem to be very much a contemporary look at our Information Age culture

Themes of "Divided America" "Walled Communities (echo chambers)" "Social Isolation"

This isn't rocket science stuff here. Now whether he has anything profound to add to that discussion outside of observing that "this is how we live and we need to change" I have no idea
MGS2 spiritual successor....

Is it weird that watching the trailer and the beautiful environments actually got me more excited for Horizon 2 than Death Stranding itself?

Decima is incredible holy moly

I don't think he's aiming to film lovers, no one would say "wow it's Norman, I need to spend $300 to play this"
