the GOAT, hope he gets a movie that showcases his legendary status.

Guys, MJ outwitted the FBI. I've heard it all.
The comparisons to R.Kelly are a bit strange when one is on literal video pissing on an underage girl and the closest piece of evidence we have for linking MJ to these crimes is solely the word of others? As far as I'm concerned there isn't any solid evidence, right?

MJ life should not be a movie, it's just TOO MUCH STUFF

Also Bohemian Rhapsody sucks

i wonder how the people that defend Micheal Jackson would react if it was their own children or if they would let have their children have a sleepover at a strangers man house

Some people lack to show symphaty to victims, because they simple don't care about them

A biopic approved by his estate that will paint him in nothing but a positive light. No fucking thanks, but of course it'll be even bigger than Bohemian Rhapsody.

People still catching bans in 2019 for defending this awful man, wow. The emotional manipulation alone that he put those children through, his " friends" , should be enough to say F him forever but nope. Fucking gross, thank you for the zero tolerance itt mods

Ugh, how one of them got banished to the sofa while MJ would disappear with their "replacement". The weird pleading and crying with the parents. He was an emotionally manipulative monster.

Considering how Bohemian Rhapsody washed over major issues and this movie has the estate behind it, I'm hoping it's countered with every single article, review, tweet, gram and post noting the sexual abuse surrounding everything because you damn well know that won't be in the film.

I'm hoping that, like most biopics, it'll go underseen and forgotten. I damn sure don't know what major distributor will want to touch it.

Yeah. Hard fucking pass. Not interested in a movie that's gonna try to pretend this shithead was some kinda saint.

Oh boy a movie celebrating a pedophile! Even if they address the fact that he was a fucking scumbag I'm sure it'll be glossed over.

Speaking from a purely business standpoint, this seems like sort of a risky move. Though I guess I can see how it would attract a fairly sizable opening weekend audience. Kind of paints the filmmakers as ducks though. The man behind Bohemian Rhapsody? Really? The studio is quacking its way to the bank.

Nah man, I'm good. If they address it at all they'll no doubt turn the victims into the villains of the film. No time for that shit.

This is such a risky proposition. It's impossible to tell the story of MJs life without acknowledging the accusations against him but who's going to see that movie? Fans will dismiss it if not outright crusade against it and I doubt those who believe the accusations will be interested in seeing it.

Those who believe accusers won't be interested in seeing some fluffy shit that ignores his child rape

Michael Jackson's incredibly abused childhood, and him finally breaking from Jackson 5 and going solo is the stuff of legends and a really good backdrop for a movie. They should focus between Jackson 5 and the release of Thriller.

The beginning of nutty MJ around the release of Bad with the Neverland and controversies, I doubt it will be made into anything.

Eh, I strongly suspect that a lot of those people upset with this biopic would not pay to see it even if the accusations and abuse were included in the storyline. It's a lost crowd, not likely to spend money on MJ-related things anymore. Throwaway angry online comments and demands are worth absolutely nothing in that sense. The only sensible and viable option I see is to try and reach those who are still fans or atleast haven't given up on his music. And I'm more than okay with that, though a full series would indeed make more sense than trying to fit his life into a single movie.

The documentaries will still be available for those who are more interested in the abusive part of his life and personality.

I don't want to see anything else about Micheal Jackson unless it's exposing his abuse as a child rapist. It's who he is, first and foremost. He's an entertainer/musician/artist second.

I don't get how people believed or still believe the kid at heart defence. It's ridiculous.

A film on MJ life's, on the topic of abuse could be made but I don't see how it can fit in the mould of Bohemian Rhapsody and celebrate his music at the same time. MJ may have fit the tortured artist archetype but he was also a torturer.

The estate will find a way. And MJ is still bankable. If it's well reviewed I can see it doing great at the box office. That's sadly the primary motivator here.

It will be interesting to see who is willing to work on this project and be a part of the cast. I can see production being difficult. If enough people turn them away, they may just abandon the idea.

If the movie is getting the approval of the Jackson estate, it's obviously not going to be too negative on him.

And if it's not going to be too negative on him, I think I would feel uncomfortable watching a film that wholly celebrated this person. For one, they've already given Michael Jackson multiple honors for his music.

So while I feel this is a worthwhile subject for a picture, either make the movie completely honest or don't make it at all.

I imagine they will address it, but it probably won't get as big a focus as the rest of his life and they will probably end the movie with his death.

So I wanted to not ask this when the topic first showed up. I have no interest in this movie as I don't see the Jackson estate giving honest take on the pedophilia parts of Jackson's life. But it did get me think is how do you cast Jackson at different points in his life?
