Yeah, I don't think I'd give much consideration to playing this on current gen consoles.
Edit: Especially my year 1 PS4/XBONE lol
What build will be able to run at 4k... Gosh damn. Texting my friend now to hold off on building his PC this year.
There might be multiple RTX effects you can enable or disable like in Control and/or quality (low, medium, high) settings.
If a 2080Ti actually needs to run this at a native res of 720p to have decent framerate then yes. Even 1440p will be a struggle.
I am not sweating at all. CDPR has always deliverd optimized experiences on PC. Maybe you'll have to play it on medium settings, but it'll look great.
That's insane. Please don't downgrade this and compromise your vision. Current gen console performance should be acceptable considering they won't have all those raytracing effects but I want the ps5/series x to have this mode even if it means a much lower resolution. Can't fucking wait for this!
Consoles don't have ray tracing which is the biggest performance hit.

Still, it will be a testament to their optimization team's ingenuity to get it to run on base consoles at a decent HD resolution and consistent framerate.
I foresee patches. Many patches over the course of a prolong period of time (as it was with TW3).

Sucks we did not get an invite to test it live like PCGH and others, but they ugpraded their RT implementation. RT AO, RT shadows, and RTGI diffused lighting (like control) is way better than just emissives!
Anyone who was expecting those cards to hit Native 4k with raytracing hasn't been paying attention. We aren't even close to a GPU doing that.
That's absolutely crazy! The RTX2080Ti being pounded like this means we need those 3000 series cards for sure.
Next gen Nvidia cards ray tracing is supposed to be a far less hit as they are on the current gen 20xx series. Will a 3080 do 4k/60 with rt on prob not but should be closer.
I hope 1440p/60 FPS is possible on medium settings without Raytracing. I can't really take 1080p these days anymore and I won't budge on 60 FPS under any circumstances.
Honestly if that was a 2080ti, I don't think there is any chance of getting 4K with all the raytracing stuff on PCs even with a 3080ti.
Maybe 1440p with everything turned on but would that even be able to hit 60fps lol?
Or maybe the 3080ti will be a complete monster and a huge step up - we can hope. But I think again, we are going to have to wait yet another gen to get to 4K + bells and whistles on PC at a good framerate so maybe...the 4000 line? lol.
Regardless I'm buying a 3080 something when it comes out. But I'll turn off Raytracing etc if I can't play at minimum 1440p for this game!
Aye. That said, selective use of RT and 1080p internal/lowest resolution on next gen system ought to yield a higher probability of stable 30fps.

Aside from the performance right now, it's great that the game will feature the FULL FAT (reverb) RT experience.
Afaik its an 30% increase over a 2080Ti which isnt that few. Actually pretty good.
Definitely not dumping much money into my PC in the next year or so, this will be a PS5 game for me.

Is it possible 720p/1080p was deliberately targeted in order to jack up the framerate and reduce latency in this context? (As well as reduce encode/Decode/bandwidth needs for the press streaming)
If so this wouldn't necessarily be representative of 'normal' operation (well, unless you also want super high frame rates for local play too)

Oh boy. No way this can run smooth on consoles. 2080TI can't play this on max settings?

Yeah my 970 is just melting at the thought of playing this. Can't afford to buy a new PC so I guess PS5 it is!
