Switch port when tho? It's going to be a complete technical catastrophe. It's going to make Bethesda RPG at launch look like smooth butter on current gen.
I mean, of course they are going to work post-launch aswell, but surely sprints around the release are much more taxing than let's say "regular" day
Haha, yeah, right. A bottle of wine and a tap on the shoulder probably. This means more crunch, right up to the holidays.
I hope the employees get some fat bonuses this year.
I would imagine he's addressing the massive amount of hate and criticism he got for daring to report on the crunch in the first place. I mean just look at the twitter responses to his earlier tweetswhose denying anything? Why do his tweets always come off as so combative? Game development is tough and unionization is essential, everyone knows this.
Game development is my passion. The amount of crunch defense that I see every time this topic of CDPR comes up is incredible.
Buggy enough that they were already crunching their assess off post-gold to try and scrape together a day 1 patch.Never thought it would be delayed even when it had gone gold…
I mean, how buggy would the 1.0 version be?
I wouldn't at all be surprised to hear that it has severe issues on the original platforms. PS4 and X1S had mid-tier PC specs even in 2013. Try to now make a game that looks amazing in 2020 while still supporting these old consoles, it's honestly incredibly difficult. I wouldn't at all be surprised if Cyberpunk drops into the teens on both those platforms regularly.
Officially in the Xenoblade Chronicles 2 TGA Dead Zone.
Hope it's worth it when you all get to play it. I'm sure none of you ever had to work this amount of hours in your life.

i just dont get why they kept putting out release dates they cant stick to. Halo infinite is frustrating, but not giving it a new public date is the smart move, because it means they can avoid this whole song and dance if they cant hit their new internal date. The public doesnt need to know.
From a selfish point of view I'm fine with this. Gives me more time digging into AC Valhalla and a few other games.
But on another note, what the hell is going on at CDPR. The game has gone gold but is being delayed a few more weeks?
Off-topic: Plus God of War 2 already seems to have very tight schedule considering how the previous game was released early 2018. Wouldn't be surprised one bit of the game slips into 2022.
woooow, fuck that place. You just reminded me of when I worked in tech support, an update caused huge mess up that increased calls into us by like thousands of percent our normal, we were working like mad scrambling to take the calls. The sr manager kept sending us emails about how we were doing good work and thanking us for us putting up with this and saying that the company was going to compensate us with some food after this all got better. When it was all said and done, and they let us pick what kind of food we wanted, he came back saying that it was too costly and we never did get anything in return.
Fuck I hated that place
Grand Theft Auto V was delayed several times.
Potentially a LOT. You can really only work efficiently on optimizations if the game is mostly done, otherwise it's a moving target. Been there, done that. I'm pretty sure they're still polishing up content and usually you have artists / designers do some crazy shit that'll make the perf go bananas and then Tech / QA needs to find out why there are regressions and fix that stuff. Testing this game must be a nightmare (especially considering they're shipping on 9 platforms (and yes, it's 9 platforms now, the mid-gen refresh certainly didn't make developers lives easier), so I'm not surprised they're struggling over there.
in the last 30 mins down about 60 cents a share and falling.
At this point, any release date they give us feels exactly like the meaning of "The Boy Who Cried Wolf.
I wonder how bad their stock price is tanking right now?
I very much doubt it lol, remember when they tried to pass off the bonus they would get due to them crunching so hard but it turned out to be the normal amount they would have gotten anyway lol? This means more crunch, right up to the holidays.

That's just your opinion. I could say the same about Trauma Porn Part 2. The reality is that all of them are critically acclaimed and beloved games, just AC had a bigger impact in pop culture. So GOTY=sales? Animal Crossing isn't even a very good game IMO. It's an ENDLESS, tedious grind with charming dialogue. But there are better actual games even in its genre.
Granted, I'm really looking forward to the game and am trying to build a new PC for it, but this game is just going to be a massive trash fire at launch isn't it? I feel bad for the people who will be playing this on current gen consoles.
True I didn't even try until they released the "complete" edition.I remember not being able to play a stable Witcher 2 for months, so I guess I'm glad they're actually taking the QA seriously. It really has to suck to be the developers right now.
