Bought this game after playing the demo for a couple of hours. It's just a really well built game. I love the art style, music, progression, and the humor. Really excited to play this Thursday.

I'm super stoked for it. Its a beautiful combo of Isaac and Paper Mario, and Isaac is one of my favorite games ever.

Just like....come out now. Please.

So what is this game then? Like a base building roguelike?

Pretty much. The game is split between gotRogue-Like Dungeon Crawling action where the game challenges you to beat dungeons that on average take about 6 to 10 minutes to beat. And you also have your Cult Base which is SimCity like. You have to build up your home base your followers live in so they stay alive, don't get hungry, don't get sick, don't become disloyal and revolt, whilst also building up your base so your followers can benefit you by Gathering Resources, Farming, Mining and most importantly giving their Devotion so they can power you up, making you stronger in dungeons, build more building types for the cult, perform rituals to power you and your cult up and pass doctrines to give full buffs. There's some side game activities as well like Fishing and a dice minigame called Knucklebones. The artstyle and dark humor certainly stand out for the game and I like the Doctrine Decisions the game throws at you, which on powering up and decreeing a doctrine, gives you a choice of 2 options on how you wish to raise your cult and how your cult acts.

It allows for certainly unique playstyles on how to raise your cult. One streamer I saw playing the game adopted the strategy of turning their cult into Cannibals, making their Cult happy with Sacrifice and unlocking Resurrections, which resulted in them Sacrificing a follower to power up their Lamb, using the follower meat to feed their cult, then performing a resurrection ritual to bring said sacrificed follower back to life... only to repeat the process with them a few days later.

Been watching streams over the weekend and I was surprised how much of the cult / base building stuff there is in this. There's a lot more depth to it than I expected.

The art style is def neat, not a fan of the sim elements though, I assume they are pretty non-optional since it's like half the game right?

Don't think this is game pass day one, but that's ok, Two Point is, and this looks worth the $25 for sure

I wanna get this on Switch but I'm assuming the performance isn't gonna be so hot. Playstation is probably the safer platform.

Yeah, you prob won't like the game if you aren't into that. The combat seems to actually supplement the sim aspect more than the other way around. You're gathering resources / finding followers to recruit during the combat sections.

I'm usually not into anything remotely rogue-adjacent, but I'm going to pick this up on Steam. The game looks like a ton of fun. My youngest kid (12) wants to play as well.

Looking forward to this one. Buzz seems to be that it's good, great even from those who've got their hands on the final product.

Reviews drop tomorrow at 10am Pacific time/1pm Eastern/6pm BST/7pm CEST. If that buzz is to be believed, sounds like this should score very well.
