This is great to hear. The launch trailer already has some nice shots, can't wait to see more tonight :)That, and just the general tone. The decor reminds me of the FBI decor in the Return too
it's actually nothing like Quantum Break imo. it's really really different
Any reviews that specifically talking about PC and Ray tracing?
Well, Return is a sequel to Departure... ;)Here is mine (in Portuguese), also on Opencritic: Echoboomer - 9/10
It's excelent. Full of style, excelent tone and atmosphere, plays great, it's weird af... it blew my mind.
I also felt that if Alan Wake was Remedy's Twin Peaks, this is The Return.
Music to my ears.ha I had this line in my first draft but cut it for space. but it's so true!
also any Alan Wake fans: please do not skip this game
It's click bait, lets not discuss it further and give them what they want.
I played it on PC. It's a heavy game, but it has some insane graphics and effects. The video above is from the PC version. Played on a GTX 1060 and was getting somewhere between 40 and 60 fps.

Does the game offer an option to lock it to 30fps?

Control uses more Nvidia RTX features than any other game right now, and they bring an incredible amount of depth to the game. The most stunning uses of ray tracing are with opaque reflections (light reflected in puddles and floors), transparent reflections (objects reflected on glass), and contact shadows, which all bring considerably more depth to the environment. It's hard to go back to playing without ray tracing after experiencing it.
You can do that yourself.Does the game offer an option to lock it to 30fps?
40~60 at medium settings makes me just want to max it at 30.
I'm getting heavy dips on Pro, whenever I use telekinesis to throw a larger objective and cause damage to the environment, while several enemies are on screen.
Great.it's well over 20 hours if you do a lot of side content. It's really long for a third person shooter
not that I could see, I had to use RTSS for thatDoes the game offer an option to lock it to 30fps?

Hmmm... I'm afraid this is gonna be another Quantum Break. That game ran so damn badly.I played it on PC. It's a heavy game, but it has some insane graphics and effects. The video above is from the PC version. Played on a GTX 1060 and was getting somewhere between 40 and 60 fps.
Sure, but if a game offers a good 30fps cap, it's much easier.
Good to know, thanks!

Have you played Alan Wake?, how does the story, atmosphere and storytelling compare?
Alan Wake was one of my favourite games
of last gen. Quantum Break was alright, but I got bored of it towards the end (still ending up finishing it).
Is this worth picking up at full price?
You also have to consider the fact that there are currently only 29 reviews being countes on MC vs 84 on OC.Seeing the Meta and Open scores 3 points off really highlights the insanity of whatever biasing system MC uses. I get the desire to have less reputable publications have less stock, but there's no way to fairly distribute a weight. The big boys have some shit reviewers like anyone else. Glad that both big games today are reviewing well though.
Its good, there's some sites with benchmarking already like here.
FUuuuuuck. This game is pretty much made for Alan Wake fans. While a slightly different tone, it inherits a lot of that game's weirdness and quirks. There's also a few surprises there for you.
I got it off ebay for 10 bucks.

I like the idea of a single weapon functioning as several too. It is consistent with the world.PSX Brasil - 85%
Verdict: Despite its confusing story, Control is a great action adventure game with a varied gameplay. The idea of a weapon being used for all functions, combined with all of Jesse's psychic powers, makes combat work very well. The simplified "metroidvania" style is also very good, making Control to be not so linear.
