Hah, just had a fun little gameplay moment with the raytracing. Had finished up a combat sequence but the combat music was still on. After about 30-40 seconds of some meandering, and looking for the guy...
...I manage to spot him sneaking up on me, with the window's reflection!
Dang, this gifs and screenshots. I think this is going to be my first EGS purchase. I don't think I can wait for the Steam release.
If they don't patch it I don't know if I'll keep on playing.JESUS CHRIST, how is the performance this bad on regular consoles? It's almost unplayable at times.
There should be some kind of buyer beware thread or something.
Please note: We are aware that there are key redemption issues for both new and preorder Control customers. Please check back soon as we continue to resolve this with our partners, thank you for your patience.
Damn, I need an SSD.On my PC, load times were really long on my standard hard drive, but on SSD after clearing some space to reinstall, reloads take 5 seconds or less. MUCH better!
I'm definitely picking it up later tonight after everyone's impressions.
Curious, 5 seconds or less is what i've experienced so far on my 5+ year old HDD. Then again i'm only around 3 hours in.On my PC, load times were really long on my standard hard drive, but on SSD after clearing some space to reinstall, reloads take 5 seconds or less. MUCH better!
I feel like this forum is usually like that for AAA stuff that's not made by naughty dogI'm glad everyone seems to be enjoying it. Era was in general a bit on the negative side pre-release.
I don't know if it counts as AAA, but at least Astral Chain has been very positively received since E3, at least.I feel like this forum is usually like that for AAA stuff that's not made by naughty dog
It does! I was surprised to find the option after installing it this morning before work. They really should make that more clear.I honestly can't tell because the page in the Epic Store doesn't seem to have a ton of detail, but does this game have cloud saves on PC?
So outside all the performance talk, can anyone tell me:
1. About how long the game is supposed to be.
2. How enjoyable would this be for another person to watch someone play? Alan Wake and Quantum Break felt like actual TV shows (one actually was technically), my partner likes watching me play horror video games but only if they don't have TOO much downtime. How would this be for that sort of activity?
Good to hear, thank you!It is very slick and stylish early on, and fairly story heavy. Good pacing too, where just as it feels like you want to actually chuck a couch at an enemy, one appears.

I am happy I didn't pre-order it. I will just for the PS5 to play it. If publishers and studios are gonna release games like this on the base consoles they might as well make them X and PRO exclusive.JESUS CHRIST, how is the performance this bad on regular consoles? It's almost unplayable at times.

You must have a speedy HDD, because mine was easily double that or more, although some folks are saying DX12 makes a difference?Curious, 5 seconds or less is what i've experienced so far on my 5+ year old HDD. Then again i'm only around 3 hours in.
In what senses does this take inspiration from House of Leaves?
And --- I heard that it's partly based on some SCP stories; is that true?
Like 30 minutes in. Performance is fine on a 1060.
This is utterly bonkers what the fuck
is there a way to move the over-the-shoulder aim view around? a couple times now the camera has gotten firmly lodged with my character's head occupying the entire center of my screen, and it makes aiming, uh, a little harder than i'd like it to be
Game hangs to black screen after 2-3 minutes, no support forum to ask, in fact people are asking about these kind of problems on "steam discussion board" for the game :(
