Yes but it's a monitor that does 1440p120 over HDMI 2.0 which I doubt Sony will support.

I'll likely resort to 4K->1440p downsampling that my monitor can do.

I do not. I'm probably going to buy a CX on Black Friday, but it depends on the deals. Part of me wants to wait a year or two until after I move and mini or micro-led becomes an option.

The C8 supports 1080p120 iirc so yeah.

I also use a 1080p144hz monitor for my PC gaming as well, but that's not really relevant because I don't plan on putting a console at my desk unless it's one I'm testing

Yes, but it only supports it at 1440p. I don't plan to upgrade any time soon as I expect *most* 120 hz games will run at 1440p or less.

Curious so I searched it up - apparently the x900f I have does have it but I need to force it or something.

I have my PS3, PS4, WiiU, gaming laptop and my gaming desktop connected to it - and soon Switch.

Bought 75'' x900f back in 2018.

Going for a 85'' sometime in 3-4 years from now.

I own a 144Hz monitor (it's my laptop's integrated display) but still set it to 60Hz for battery saving and rendering performance savings I can instead use for better graphics settings.

A framerate of at least 60Hz is extremely important to me, but honestly, diminishing returns like mad past that point.

Sadly I'm locked behind 1440p but Samsung Q7FN allows 120hz output.

I'll wait to see the maximum resolution of Dirt, CoD and DMC5. If its not around 1620p or higher.... then I guess I'll stick around for some time with my Q7FN.

Yes! Bought specifically for the upcoming gen. Got. 55" B9 in the bedroom and a 65" CX in the living room.

My Sony 930e (a 2017, non-2.1 TV) does 120 hz so technically I could play DMC5 SE on it with the 1080p/120 hz mode if I really wanted to. That said I don't think I'll be getting it and also I don't think my receiver which can do 5.1 PCM (uncompressed) by plugging my console into it can also pass through 120 hz (think it's capped to 4K/60) so I probably wouldn't want to give that up.

Going back to DMC5 SE it still offers a 1080p/60 + RT mode (I'd probably just play that) or a 4K/30. Most games I wanna play will likely cap at 4K/60 at the higher end especially if they're throwing in some RT (most 120 hz games will be a few crossgen and some indies most likely) so I'll probably be good.

Just bought one of the new TCL 6-series that can do 1440p at 120hz. Seemed like a great middle ground for what I'm looking for and price.

I'm in the market for a new monitor since one of mine just died but I don't think a 120hz option is in my budget. So back to 60 I go.

I own a 4k/120 LG C9, and a 165hz 1440P Asus ROG Swift pg279q... I'm 100% ready for next gen.

Lol I don't even have a 1080p display. My trusty old Vizio 32" 720p set from like 2005 or so is still working fine.

console gamers...why not include pc gamers into the mix as well?

because i can guarantee you, even ppl on PC with more than 60hz monitor are the extreme minority. let alone ppl gaming on TV.
I have a 144Hz monitor, with GSYNC, and while it is wasn't cheap, it was worth every cent.
Never going back to a 60 FPS fixed refresh monitor again.

Bought an LG CX three weeks ago, I'm ready for next gen!

Gonna do a large PC upgrade next year too, that'll look great on this TV!

I play console games on a 49 4k 60hz tv. My pc uses a 27, 1440p 165(oc) monitor.
I don't think I'll be upgrading my tv in the next years tbh.

I do not. Dont plan on upgrading until the ninth generation either. My TV only does 60hz. Would there be any benefits to playing 120fps games on a 60hz display?

Yes (voted no though, lol)?

I have a gaming monitor for my PC that does 144Hz with GSYNC, but only via Displayport so I can't use consoles with it.

I have a budget 4K TV that I'll probably replace in the next couple years with something that does 120Hz/better HDR.
