Can someone explain what Cernovich is even trying to say in that tweet? I don't have the best reading comprehension but as a defense of the blatantly racist tweet he was referring to I can't even begin to parse it.
Something something he's not racist. Something something nonsensical whataboutism.

I've become quite fluent in alt right troll deciphering apparently.

I live in a giant bucket.
The best part? He retweeted a (sarcastic) Sleeping Giants tweet.

Also dying at how conservatives are trotting out the ol' "Oh but I thought liberals said black people couldn't be racist!" defense.

Honestly, these fuckers find something to bitch about EVERY year at the Oscars. Point and laugh at them, we'll forget about whatever they say immediately.

Getting flashbacks of when PSY came over to perform and because of one of his songs conservatives attacked him

I wouldn't have picked Parasite as Best Picture myself, but it kind of makes me think of
Ana de Arnas inheriting the house from the American family.
Just watched it yesterday, completely agree with you.
I hope Bong Joon Ho does something like the last scene from the movie. "My house, my rules, my coffee"

This is his defense.

1917 is also a foreign film. Gee, I wonder why he has a problem with a Korean film winning but no problem with the British film.

Expected meltdown by people who feel threatened by cultural variety. It's funny because there's been many years where they indeed just threw all awards at the socially sensitive Oscar bait movie (made by straight white people probably), but the real issue is that an Asian movie won over some big American production.

I admit that English is not my first language, but I can't fathom that defense.

He mentioned the director 3 times in that single tweet, and then he claims that he was referring to the Oscar judges? How does that work?

It's the way he mentions it "stokes flames of class warfare" and they only did it to show how "woke they are".

Like so class warfare isn't a subject worth winning?

I'm sure Cernovich really does care about Asian Americans as actual people, not as props to peddle racist venom. Definitely. Totally.

I mean, I'll agree on the first half, but also are those two the only movies you've ever seen then? lol

You mean this year? No i watched more movies, Joker among them.

I didn't enjoy Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, i thought it was extemely boring for me (except the last scene), I love Tarantino's movies (pulp fiction and django especially) but i don't understand why some love this one, what's good about this movie really? Where's the fun in it?

It doesn't, but he gotta try. Western racist really don't like being called racist.

Why do some of you guys gotta post this negative shit? It's election year. Our country is far from dead. We are still better off than most of this planet. And we can make a difference.

I understand the motive behind these tweets is racism....but I don't even understand The points he is trying to make in bad faith. Hollywood for one year awarded a movie that deals with the differences in social classes? Why is that bad? By even trying to portray this as a Hollywood vs Us issue he is acknowledging that different classes exist. Are we not allowed to talk about it?

Here and on gaming side I've been on about it before - if it's a tweet then put 'tweet' in the title.

That platform is absolutely not worth a whole thread for people to click on and again realise they have been in or not far away for that place long enough.

Can't we just ignore 'salt' twitter for certain things. Does literally every positive event that happens going forward need to have a 'but look what idiots are saying about it!!!' footnote.

The characters, the tension, the comedy and the drama. Which is basically what's good about every good Tarantino movie.

For once, the twitter thread of that Jon Miller dude is fantastic. Not his message, but the replies he's getting.

No way, none of these were done well in the movie imo, this movie is also nothing like his other works, they do share some similarities yes but this one is something else.

Many scenes made zero sense to me and i had no idea what they meant or what's good about them, shirtless brad on roof for example, what the hell?

A film not in the English language finally wins best picture, and the almost immediate response is to find out what some no name numpty from Blaze TV, whatever the fuck that is, has to say about it.

Who fucking cares?

It'd be weird for a conservative to say anything good about Parasite, the movie has a very strong message about class, socialism, society, etc and its definitely not a message that conservatives or pro-affluent would embrace.

If America can be that easily destroyed, maybe it should be. Could build a place with less racist foundations on top of its rubbles.

Aside the obvious xenophobia, his tweet makes no logical sense. He's destroying America because...he spoke in his own language (and had a Korean sounding name)? Get a brain, guy.

(I haven't seen the movie yet so I can imagine the focus of the movie is part of it. Sounds like I gotta watch Parasite)

Totally. Stop looking for ways to be miserable. I'd understand if this was an overwhelming response but this thread is made of two people's opinions.

This win is a thing to celebrate and it seems like a vast majority of the circles I frequent are taking it as such.

About what I expected.

Probably stating the obvious at this point, but I'm pretty sure we'd hear fuck-all from the scum-right if, say, 1917 had won best picture.
