The footage really captures the aura that those early 3D horror games had. Slow movement, lots of empty spaces where you just don't know if you're gonna get attacked or not. I love the look of it.

Jaw knows.

I like the aesthetic. It's a rare example of a PS1-style indie that both looks relatively authentic and good. Most lofi PS1-style indies I've seen look really bad. However, pretty-looking indies are ultimately dime a dozen. I just hope it will play well.

I hate it. Now I know why it took so long for indies to use this style.

With no nostalgia for the game, it just looks rough.

Which is probably the biggest compliment I can give it, they absolutely nailed that PS1 look.

I'm really glad so many indies have taken to using the PS1 retro look. Can't account for bad tastes.

I absolutely love those graphics. I'm so ready for a nostalgia driven era of 32bit inspired 3d graphics to arrive.

I know most people would hate this but, I think it would be cool if they go the extra mile in authenticity and include janky ps1 tank controls. Apart of the reason why the first Dino Crisis was so tense for me was dealing with tank movement lol.

Indie scene has been making strides at hitting those retro looks. NES then SNES, then PS1. We need more N64 lookalikes tho as well!

Can't wait for PS2/GC/OGXB retro looks!

Not only do I like the PSX era art, there is a part of my old gamer brain that is instinctually excited by PSX style graphics running at extremely high frame rates. Games that look like that aren't supposed to run at 60hz.

I dig it. It's a retro look that works well with 60fps. Got very much Resident Evil 1 & 7 + Dino Crisis vibes.

The video on the Steam page does look a lot better than the one on Twitter.

I have to say, though, as someone who lived through this era I have zero nostalgia for it. It's not that PS1-style graphics can't look beautiful, I mean take Umurangi Generation for example, but this game just looks muddy. I know that the desaturation is a deliberate stylistic choice, but it doesn't work for me, especially in the dark areas. The scenes with better lighting look ok, though.

It looks good and is definitely on my radar now. Though it would be nice to see some Dinosaur footage in your Dinosaur game.

Looks ugly as sin (and boring to boot). The PS1 era 3D is probably what I have the least nostalgia for. The wobbly mess without perspective correction can burn in hell. I'd be very cautious actually expecting a good game here. At least it has a deliberate soundtrack, lol.

I can't even play the original Wipeout anymore, as ugly as it is. And that's WIPEOUT, I love Wipeout!

People like brown and dark styled games.

These comments strike me as very disrespectful. You seem mad?

Tell that to the thousands of people on the devs twitter account telling them how much they love the look of the game.

Yuck. PS1 graphics are not good. Its just barely renderable 3D graphics. I really hope this doesn't become a trend, bad 3D graphics aren't a good thing to bring back.

I just don't like what I see at all. The "wobbly mess" wasn't aimed at this game in particular, but at the whole PS1 generation of 3D games. The darkest timeline for game graphics, I didn't even like it back then. Took a while for the switch from 2D to 3D to be tolerable. Those early years were rough.

So many haters ITT but I no longer feel the urge to correct them with endless videos of gorgeous PSX games. Haters gonna hate.
